Quick Question about EVGA Step Up Program

In about two weeks I am going to buy a graphics card for the new system I am building. I only want to spend around $200. Later down the road I would like to do the step up program to get an 8800GTX or newer gfx card. My question is if I get a zalman aftermarket cooler for the graphics card will that void the warranty/eligibility for the step up program? Also, do any other manufacturers do a program like this? I tend to like XFX and BFG more than EVGA.
 
EVGA is the only manufacturer that will allow you to change the video card fan to an after market fan without voiding the warrantee. XFX and BFG do not like any aftermarket mods. EVGA, in fact, will let you overclock the card without voiding the warrantee. And the trade up program is the bomb!

I've bought from BFG and EVGA and like the products of both companies. But I settled on EVGA from now on because of their liberal warrantee.

One final note, steer clear of EBAY when buying any EVGA card (maybe others, as well; we'll have to see how it all washes out). EVGA's warrantee applies to the "ORIGINAL" buyer only! Beware...
 
i only buy stuff like this from newegg and i definitely only buy my videocards from evga. any company that his this type of consideration for their customers deserves full support and i am more than happy to give them mine. evga is amazing as is newegg
 
Read some of the other threads about EVGA uprading. You have to pay MSRP for the upgraded card, so it may not be that great of a deal.
 
So I cannot buy one with a rebate and send it in? That would not be that bad. Most of the rebates are only around $20-30 anyway.

I doubt it, what if someone didn't send in the rebate? The rebate form on my 8800GTS for $30 specifically mentions to NOT worry about step-up/warranty being affected.
