hey guys. i'm new to the forum (and a newb in general). I tried searching this but could not find anything, maybe i'm not searching the right words. if it is a repost i would gladly take a thread redirection.

I just got a new monitor and was wondering what the different methods were of raising it. All i know of know is the stand that connects to the wall.. and i've seen some frame set ups. just curious what to look for. and if you guys wanted to see my set up here it is :)

nothing spectacular.. just started a new setup
and i used a camera phone so sorry for bad quality

Since it's a Dell, you could probably use a height adjustable stand from one of the ultrasharps.

Edit: I just tried the stand from a 1707FP on a 2209WA, and while it fits perfectly, the mechanism used to hold the monitor in position isn't strong enough to keep it up top. The monitor always sink down to near the bottom position. If you use a stand from a similar sized ultrasharp as your monitor you probably won't have this issue.

so basically the best option is to buy a stand from a different monitor?

what about like.. those fence like backings (if you know what i mean.. hard to describe)?

"lcd desk mount" "lcd wall mount" "lcd arm" "lcd stand" "phonebook" are some of the phrases you wanna search with

The "fense" looking thing is a wall mount and I do not think they make one small enough for that display.
