Just wanted to know if anyone has seen or heard of any of this sound card (Audigy 4) going to PCI-E, or know of any PCI-Express Sound cards that may have already hit the market. Thanks! :)
 
I e-mailed creative, and the quote was: "With regards to the issue you are having, I am afraid there is not released plans that the Audigy 4 Pro will have a PCI-Express format available."

Also they mentioned to check and see if the board I was using is PCI backwards compatible. Oh well... I may have to contact shuttle and see if their SN25P system is backwards compatible.
 
It is not- PCIe only, a 1x and a 16x. AFAIK, there are exactly no PCIe soundcards on the market- as for sound quality, the solution in the SN25P rates as the best available on board. Don't get your hopes up for Creative to release a PCIe card anytime soon- the next product will be PCI first followed by PCIe.
