Would a CoolerMaster LGA775 ExtremePower 430W support 2xATI MSI 3870 in crossfire and amd 5000+ on 3.4GHz+ 2-3 pc case fans?

I had a 430w PSU running my server with a Q6600, 4gb DDR2-800, 3 500gb drives in RAID5, 1 500gb removable, 1-92mm and 1-120mm case fans, and a lower end video card. It ran that way 24x7 for 1.5 years before it died last week. I replaced it with a 500w spare I had in the closet.

Coolermaster's lower-wattage PSUs are generally mediocre, and that system would be pretty hefty. I wouldn't risk it. Even on a high-quality 400-450W PSU, you'd be past the comfort zone.

I think a Corsair 520/550W is about as low as you would want to go & a Corsair 650W would probably be best.

Good Gaming,
Dave :)

As everyone else has said: No. At least, not for long anyway. Hell I don't even think that PSU can power your rig well with only one of those 3870 cards.

Even with a quality 450W PSU that's a bit too close for comfort. You should have a PSU with at least 40A on the combined +12V rail for that kind of setup. Good minimum PSU choices:
- Corsair 520HX 520W PSU (40A on the +12V rail)
- Corsair 550VX 550W PSU (41A on the +12V rail)
- BFG MX-550 550W PSU (41A on the +12V rail)
- BFG LS-550 550W PSU (41A on the +12V rail)
