I just recently received a x1800xt PCI-E card. Everytime I alt-tab out I get a pause, and my dell 2005FPW glitches a little between the switch (white lines for .5 secs). Wondering if anyone knows what this is?

Out of a video game, or another application that is intensive on the card.

Depends on the game, and depends on the video card, and depends on how much ram you have.

Some games play nicer with Alt-Tab than others. I know some that don't support it at all. I remember when most cards didn't even support it properly.

You kids these days, want your Alt-tab to function %100 of the time :D

If it is a game that likes ram (like Oblivion, Battlefield 2, etc), and you have 1GB or less, it will probably take longer to alt-tab back to the desktop, because the game is using every bit of memory it can.

I have 1gb of memory in this machine, never flickered like this before I installed this card. Just wondering if anyone knows why it happens particularly with this card? It happens when I alt-tab out of World of Warcraft.

Make sure your resolution and refresh rate are the same for both Windows, and your games. ;)

They are all set to 60hz, that's the highest setting that windows allows me for the Dell 2005FPW. All my games are also set to 60hz.
