Just a quick question, i'm sure the answer is no but does crossfire require a master card still or is it just 2 cards bridged like SLI?

i've never thought about doing crossfire since i had a bad experience with my 6800GT SLIed but starting to think about it now that the 4850s are about 60$ used. (craigslist)

They haven't needed a master card for ages. Everything from the 3-series up just needed two cards and bridges.

Glad you could make it outside. The sun isn't anything to be afraid of.

its been that long since i looked at it, the last time i even considered it was with my X1900XTX.. its odd, I had to ask because it doesn't really spell it out on AMDs Crossfire FAQ.. i figured it didn't need the master card but had to ask to make sure.. (crazier things have been known to happen).

so another question, is it worth crossfiring a 4870 and a 4850? i noticed AMD supports mixed card crossfire (Very nice)
