I see guys running superpie 2004 for testing overclocking stability.... My question is -- Are they running two copies at the very same time... Or are they just running one copy?

I have never seen anyone talk about how they run superpie 2x vs 1x.... But when i ran the program there was a little pop up that said "we see you have more then 1 cpu. You need to run two copies of sp2004 to test each".

I have a e6600-- two cores but one cpu... Guessing sp04 sees each core as its own cpu... yes? How do you guys run a test?

hmmm superpi for speed/performance testing, Orthos (which finds 2 cores and runs a test on each core) for stability.

but to answer your question, start two instances of super pi, hit ctrl alt del to bring up the task manager, go to processes and find the instances of superpi running and right click on them and use "affinity" to asign an instance to a particular core. You will have to redo this every time you close and restart the program. You can leave it up an recalculate without having to redo once you set it up. This is for XP should be about same under Vista but I dont know for sure.

I looked around and found there is a stressprice for dual cores and one for single cores-- i had the one for single cores and just found the dual core one...

All is good now... -=-- thanks guys

Thanks for your help though Bill.
