Question about power supplys

Post the entire setup, budget, features you want (quiet, efficent, bling, modular cables, balls to wal performance) and then we can help.

Doesnt need to be quite, no need for bling, just balls to the wall performance.

Modular cables are ones that you only connect to the PSU as many as you use. They clean up the interior. And a price point you are looking at?

Preferably around 50 or cheaper probably 75 being the limit I am trying to keep everything under $1500 including a monitor and windows so about 75 would be the limit.

So the benefit with going with modular is a more clean case and better temps due to it being cleaner? It woudlnt really matter to me, I am just looking at primarily cost to performance ratio.

bump

I tihnk the DFI does need a -5v not positive tho

Well if that is the case you will need to find one with a -5v....I know the Superflower Plug-N's are native 24pin, have a -5v, and a good 12v rail. You can find them at www.diretron.com or www.xoxide.com As for others I will have to go look at individual models and see which 24pin's have the -5v since it was eliminated from the spec.

Ok so can somone recomend one in the 70 or under area maybe tops like 85 shipped?

IF anyone could thanks, getting pretty close to the time I want to buy. :)

lol - I end up recommending Fortron so often, I have the model numbers memorized ;)

12v1 - 10A
12v2 (CPU) - 15A

It should be enough. Overclocking may be affected depending what your future plans are. eWiz has the other Fortron dual rail units for good prices too though - AX500-A and FSP400-60THN. It would probably be at least the 400w I would go for, but the 350w will do it for now.

ok thanks a lot you two. Now I just need to wait till June 25th so I can get my graduation money and "pull the trigger" :)
