Anyone purchashing this game tomorrow? Just curious as I most likely will not due to the past few games being crap. You?
 
ETQW for the PC was a decent game, and still is.

There is no reason not to consider this game for the PS3 in my opinion (pre review of course).

The game for the PC had the misfortune of coming out before COD4, Orange Box etc and just didnt build up the momentum. It was still a good game though.

I don't get it. You think it would have done better had it come out after COD4 and Orange Box? Quake Wars was billed as a BF2 killer. It failed because it sucked in comparison.

Being an avid player of the PC version, I say yes. If you like team based gameplay, there's simply no game out there that can match with Quake Wars.
 
I have the PC version, it's pretty good but there are better multiplayer experiences out there. As far as teamwork though, it does have perhaps the best way to handle waypoints and objectives. You're always being asked to do something and it's fairly easy to figure out what needs to get done, so even as a new player you feel like you're part of the team.
 
I agree, I liked this game more than the battlefield games.
This is definitely a game to get for PC though unless the PS3 version supports keyboard/mouse, but I doubt it does.
 
The graphics are dated and I really just didn't enjoy the PC version. I'll pass.
 
I really liked the PC demo. Never got around to purchasing it though. Maybe I will. Although not for PS3. I still can't stand controllers for multiplayer FPS'.
 
I really enjoy the PC Quake Wars, but 59 bucks for the game on a PS3 this late in the game? Nah. Id buy it if it were 39 bucks.
 
Just got it off Steam for $30. Hopefully there is a community.

Nonsense. The BF2 players who were sick of all the bugs and DICE's BS, lofted QW as a potential BF2 killer. Splash Damage billed it as a sequel to Wolf ET. On that basis, QW kicks ass.

Most of the bad reactions came from BF noobs with no clue how to play an ET game.

I won't be getting it on PS3. I already have the PC version.
 
Yea, Wolf:ET was an amazing game. One of my favorites by far.

I felt the same when I played the PC version on release. Pity, because I never really gave the gameplay mechanics a chance. I spent more time installing the game than actually playing. I really was expecting a much better game than bf2.

Much better game ? Yes.

Much better looking game ? No.

Although from the reviews I've read, it sounds like some things were changed (for the worse) in the console ports.

* No first person view inside vehicles (edit: actually PS3 version has it, X360 doesn't for some reason :confused:)
* Simplified XP upgrade/reward system
* No ranks or global stat tracking
 
I got the game with my video card and from the few days I played it I absolutely hated it. It was a major disappointment in my book. From the videos I saw I thought it would be good. I quickly went back to TF2.
 
also got et:qw with my evga 8800 back in the fall. i played it and liked it but there were just too many other good games out at that time.

i might install it again and give it another go for pc but i wont be buying it for my ps3.
