Q9450 vs E6700

Depends. What are doing with your PC now that you think warrants a CPU upgrade?
 
i still have to buy my video card (i am waiting for the newer cards to come). and i like to play crysis (already bought a copy). mostly now i browse the internet only. i like to have a new system always been using computers since the ibm xt.
 
I think the only thing that the Q upgrade helped me with was with movie encoding, really. I think I had no significant diff in gaming between my Core2 o/c'd to 3.5 and the quad running 3.6 really, especially with these 6-8 gb games out now that really stress the 8800GTX single card solution.
