Well I've been searching for what other people usually get for temps with my Q9450 and I can't figure out why my temps are way hotter then what other people report. I'm getting around ~70c load and ~55c Idle 1.29 Vcore @ 3.4 and at stock (2.66) im getting ~60c load and ~50c Idle stock Vcore. Im using a Therlmalright 120 ultra extreme cpu cooler with a scythe s-flex 120mm fan at 1500rpm and I have 6 other 120mm fans in my system too. Arctic Silver 5 is the CPU spreader I used. Seems like most people are getting around 30-40c Idle and ~50-55c max even when overclocking. Are these safe temps to be running at normally?
 
Temps are safe... just abit higher than average maybe...

Ambient temps can make a big difference in air-cooling (not as much with WCing)
 
Your CPU can be run up to 95C or so without any issue, and after that it will clock itself down to prevent it from incurring heat damage. Don't worry about your temps, they're fine.
 
They're well within the safe range, but yea, they're somewhat higher than normal... What's your ambient temp? I get hotter temps than a lot of people in the summer too, but it gets pretty hot and humid down here w/o AC so... It's not unexpected. :p You can always check that the TRUE is making good contact with the processor and that the AS5 is evenly spread, not much to do beyond that. (don't squirt too much of it on either)
 
I have a q9450 @ 3.33GHz w/ a AC7 and AS5, and my idle temps are 38-40c and 55-65c load.

I am pretty surprised w/ a Therm120 you are getting that high of temps.

I would expect that your ambient temps are just high, and if that is the case I would not be concerned, however if you have low ambient temps that is another story.

I would recommend checking to see that you did not apply too much/little AS5, and ensure your TRUE is properly seated. Aside from that maybe use the washer mod on the TRUE and make sure all your fans are clean?

It would be good if you could post your ambient temps and pics of the inside/outside of your case.
Perhaps a combination of better cable management and changing the some fans directions could help out too.

Although I am not sure what the deal with my remote 1 and 2 / local temps are? I hope nothing in my case is reaching 100c+ o_O
Anyone have any idea what that is about?

I doubt a mobo component could get that hot w/o something simply dying (or you noticing instability), heh... Must be a bad reading or a sensor not really being recognized properly. Could always try SpeedFan as well.
 
i have had a few overly hot 45nm quads. some just have chips that dont make good contact with the heat spreader. thats just the way it goes. your temps are fine. dont worry about idle temps, either.
