im upgrading to the Q8200 soon..just out of curiosity...
with windows XP people tend to use xp professional..which is like using vista business. im assuming thats done just for performance...correct me if im wrong too. so if i use vista business would i get any type of boost in performance over using ultimate? also did microsoft come out for a service pack for business yet? no way in hell am i using it without one lol

also..hows windows 7 looking? ;) (besides the fact but curious lol)

There is no difference in performance between different versions of XP or Vista. The only differences are related to the features enabled in each.

thats kinda what i was figuring..i know xp pro runs smoother than xp home and what not..ive used them both..and i liked pro more. but i didnt know if the same applied for vista

I believe the only difference between Vista Business and Ultimate is that Ultimate has media center built in and business does not.

That's not entirely true. There are differences between XP 32-bit and 64-bit
I was talking about differences between Home and Professional. As for 32-bit compared to x64 (Windows XP 64-bit Edition was the Itanium version of the OS - x64 is the x86-64 version), they aren't even really the same OS. x64 is based off of Server 2003.
