Q6600 & Stutering?

Gotta be a bit more specific - what do you mean by 'stuttering' and when/in what program does this happen?

You mean "or" rather than "of" right?

That's not a a CPU related problem. The video playback issue could be due to codec issues, player issues, hard drive issues, corrupted OS, etc. The gaming issues could be due to driver issues, defective GPU, corrupted OS, etc.

Still need more details. So whatever game and video you play, the video and game stutters?
 
Stuttering in games can be caused by many different things, although a CPU bottleneck could be one of them. If you're comfortable with overclocking, try raising the speed of your CPU to around 3-3.2GHz and see if that alleviates the issue at all. If it doesn't, then the cause of your issue is most likely something else.

I think tearing is due to gpu/monitor issues rather than cpu issues. Anyways, a stock Q6600 runs games fine. I know my brother keeps his at 2.4ghz and plays games like Crysis with no problems.
