My friend put his computer into Hibernate, and now it won't come out of it. When you power the computer on you can hear the hard drives power up and the CPU fan, but then it slows down and nothing happens. Keyboard and mouse won't wake it up, unplugging the power won't wake it up, clearing cmos or anything won't wake it up.

It's a Dell Dimension, I told him I would look at it to see if I could think of something, and I'm not having any luck. Do you think it might be the PSU or another hardware problem and it's just a coincidence that it happened the same time he tried to put it in hibernate? He says he's used it all the time and this is the first time this has every happened. The power button just stays orange and nothing works no matter what I remove or do.

Call Dell and ask them why the bloody thing won't work.

Dell is good

but Dimensions are crap!

See if the hard drive is working by taking it out of the Dell and slaving it to your PC.

Power management is located in the BIOS, not the hard drive. If you can get to the BIOS, disable the proper settings, and try to reboot.
