and I've not had to research this stuff in years. I pulled up TigerDirect and it looks like my options are Socket775, AM2/AM2+, and AM3. I'm assuming Socket775 is Intel and AM is AMD. I need a MB that can hold at least 8GB RAM. That's my primary concern and I'll figure out the rest from there. I'm not asking which is better as I'll read up on them as I figure out exactly what I'm looking for. My question to you guys...are there any MB's that should be at the top of my list and are there any you would advise me to stay away from?

Most motherboards with 4 memory slots will hold 8GB of memory in LGA775, AM2/AM3.
