I have an RP401X2 with one PMP-400 (Laing DDC 3.25) atm. Unfortunately, the unit is not wired for PWM like Swiftech's MCP35X. How in the world do I quiet this pump? My basic fan controller is problematic because of the pump's startup voltage requirement - I don't want to have to change the speed on startup.

What is the simplest, least expensive way to get this pump running at a lower voltage?

I was just looking into this myself. It looks like the only way is to use a high watt fan controller or koolance also makes a 8-12v and a 12-24v pump controller. Either option looks like it will set you back around $40

No matter what ya do even a 35X on lowest PWM throttle will not be as silent as a D5 at full throttle.

I'd be very cautious about using those Koolance controllers...it is easy to overheat a 3.25-based pump even under stock wattage at rated top wattage....accidentally sending 24W to it would smoke it
