Hi everybody!

I want to built a new i5 – 750 built with 8 GB ram, 2 HDDs and a 5850 GPU. I may do a light OC in the CPU.

I was looking for a power & cooling 610Watt but due to availability issues I decided to look (in the same price range) for a Corsair 550W or an Enermax 525W.

I am covered with those 2 PSUs or do I really need to look for the 600+ versions? I just don’t want to have any problems even if I add more components like a new hdd.

Nah, your planned setup will be easily powered by a quality 525W or 550W PSU.

With that said, the Enermax Pro82+ 525W PSU is $110 while the Corsair 550VX is OOS at newegg. For not that much more, you can get this larger PSU:
$115 - Antec Truepower New TP750 750W PSU

Anyone know what the sound quality is on those? I found a review recently on JonnyGuru (I think) that pitted a bunch of 500+ watt psus against one another and came out with the BFG LS-550/680 being the best bang for the buck and gold editors choice award... However, I cannot find them anywhere other than Fry's (store pick-up only).....I will link the article if I can find it again.

That's an Anandtech review you were reading, not a JonnyGuru review. Yes the LS-550 and LS-680W were good PSUs but are no longer being sold at major retailers. Why that's the case I do not know.

Anyway, the Antec Truepower New 750 and the Corsair 750TX are both fairly quiet PSUs.

I second the Corsair 750TX recommendation. Its a rock solid PSU and I got mine for 109 dollars at Newegg. Its also fairly quiet, and since its more than powerful enough to give juice to your rig, you don't have to be to worried when you do future upgrades.

got with the corsair 750tx or the antec 750. these are solid and you wont regret it. the power supply is the most important part in your pc

Thanks everybody for your answers! :)

Well I found the Power & Cooling 750W Silencer PSU in a good price and I bought it. Thanks again!
