PSU Advice

I am looking for a new PSU to power my rig in the sig below. I am looking for one that has a 120mm fan. I only have one rear 80mm and could use the heat extraction. Also, 80 Plus would be nice and quiet is a must. I am looking to replace my X1600XT with a 8800GT and add a SATA HD in the near future.

I know that the current PSUs will become obsolete once the Nehalem rolls out but I want to hang onto my rig for at least another year and am paranoid about my low grade PSU dying on me.

Any suggestions for a good / affordable PSU and perhaps a fast / quiet SATA HD 500GB or less?

Why would current PSUs become obsolete when Nehalem arrive? Nehalem boards sill use the same power and power plugs as current AMD and Intel boards and other hardware.

Anyway, this is a very affordable and excellent quality PSU:
Corsair 450VX 450W PSU - $60

More than likely you'll be able to take that Corsair with you when you finally do a full system overhaul.

As for hard drives, here are a few options:
Western Digital WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - $62 (50/50 chance of you getting the single platter version that's as fast as a Raptor drive. But you might get the old slower version)
Samsung SpinPoint T Series HD502IJ 500GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - $70
Western Digital WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - $85 (Just as fast as Raptor drive.)

Thanks Danny Bui. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought there was going to be a new power connector for the Nehalem capable boards.

The 640GB WD seems like a great buy. My lowest Vista score is 4.3 due to my IDE Seagate that I've has since 2005, I believe.

Nope. No new power connector for Nehalem motherboards.

I am pretty much set on purchasing the 450VX, however I have two concerns.
1. There isn't an EPS12v connector. My understanding is that provides 'cleaner' power to the CPU. Apparently many motherboards allow you to plug in the old 4pin connector. Will I be missing out when I do a major upgrade?
2. As far as wattage goes. Will 450W be enough for a mid-range Nehalem CPU (stock speed), 4GB Ram, 2 Sata HDs, 8800GT, 2 pci cards, 3x 80mm Zalman fans and an optical drive?

$50.90 AR at zipzoomfly is very tempting but I don't want to end up limiting myself. I don't plan on taking advantage of SLI or overclocking very much. Just want my investment to last 3-4yrs. Thanks!

1) The Cosair 450VX does come with EPS/ATX12V connector:

Some systems will not boot without the 8Pin connector. So just connect it whenever you can.

2) No one knows what's the actual power usage of the new Nehalem CPUs. So cannot comment without a doubt that the 450VX will be enough. But I'm 90% sure that PSU will be fine for a Nehalem build.
