ps3 tethering

i was just curious if a ps3 can tether by connecting to a laptop/desktop that has internet access.
 
Ah... I missed that. I used a cheap (5usd) netgear switch to do that.

Don't know if the PS3 has gigabit, but if both sides do, then a crossover is not needed.

wonder if the ethernet cable that comes with the ps3 is crossover
 
Should be a straight through cable with the PS3. Look at the colors of the wires in the connector to be sure. If the colors are in the same order on both ends of the cable its a straight

Really? I was making cables over the summer at my interndhip one day and when the colors are not in same order on both ends the cable doesn't work at all

I think you just said the same thing he did....


same order = straight ---> used for most connections

orange and green switched = crossover ---> used for router to router, switch to switch, pc to pc, etc
