PS3 owners!!!

Realism? Hah, good one. If the game was striving for realism, how many of the other design choices would be the way they are? That's the just excuse for apologists in any game. Criticism of RE5's no moving and shooting? Explanation: realism! Never mind that you can't walk and use a knife either....Same deal with this. If realism were your concern, shouldn't you be appalled that it takes more than a single bullet to put someone on the floor?

Sorry, but your argument is moronic. Trying to add a bit of realism to one area does not mean they have to go the whole nine yards. They're trying something no other FPS has ever done before, make the weapons and your armor feel like they have weight to them. This does not force them to make everything else more based in realism. Its all about design decisions and trying things that they believe will be fun, but a little different from what everyone else is doing.

The RE5 control argument...I'm just going to avoid it because I don't even like the series anymore.

It's fair enough to say that it's different.

Sometimes different sucks. Oops.

Seems its pretty much love it or hate it. Nothing wrong with that though.

Yeah pretty much. I cancelled my pre-order with Amazon just yesterday. Good thing they didn't ship it to me. Seb and GG can really go to hell, I hate their stupid excuses about anything.

The argument wasn't whether it was fun, it was said that it was more real. So it "real" is your standard, then it's your standard. I don't think you read the post I was responding to.

Adding weight is part of "realism". My point was that saying "well why didn't they do this" isn't valid because their goal was adding a bit of "realism" to the controls, not every aspect of the game.

Its not an excuse if they told us a long ass time ago that they were doing this with the controls.

So realism for realism's sake is ok if it has to do with controls, but not with bullet impact, recoil of guns, physics, or any one of a dozen other things? The point I was making, which still stands, is that developers (and fans) often hide behind the "realism" excuse simply to excuse bad gameplay mechanisms.

As I said above, its not an excuse if they told us about it a long time ago. Its not like them talking about the controls is a new thing. Anyone paying attention has known for a while what they were trying to do.

I have to admit, I never really noticed any control issues.
But it may be due to me not playing any other FPS shooters in a few weeks.

Now THAT is well stated. :D

Actually picked up a PS3 this past weekend AND KZ2, my first impressions of the PS3 are that its like a big boy 360. There are SOO many options. KZ2 is really good too with a great difficulty level almost abusingly. I'm on the boss (ATAC) and that thing is a pain in the ASS. errgg.

Try beating that boss on Veteran +, I almost threw my cousin out the window in frustration (he owns it).

The ATAC fight was bad, until I figured out that I didn't have to stay on the top level. After that it was a breeze.
