PS3 owners....look inside!!

I just bought a PS3 about a week ago. It is currently set up and folding away!

I think he's pulling your leg to get you to fold in defiance :)
 
I know he is pulling my leg but figured MaxPC must have said something bad about people who don't fold@Home.

Thing is I never leave my internet connection on 24/7 because that just invites hackers. I have a DocSys modem so I can disconnect the connection just by pressing a button and I often do. If I do fold@home I would have to leave it open 24/7.
 
Have you tried Protowall or other IP blocking security software to minimise the chance of a nasty place even getting access or phoning home from your PC?
You can see what is being allowed or blocked easily and block anything you dont like.

Using BlockList Manager (BLM) to generate the blocklist, I am blocking 61% of the internets IP addresses !!
(including MS and EDU ranges)
 
I have also chipped in, my PS3 was just sitting there doing nothing while I was at work. I could spare some electricity for you guys :) Been reading these forums for years.

Haven't tried Protowall but always have Cports installed so I can see what is going on if I ever suspect anything. Can't block with Cports but it does allow you to kill connections to your PC. I'll check out Protowall, thx. I can always disable the internet connection from within the PC anyway so will fire up folding@home on the PS3 for a few days. I should really help anyway because I watched my mum die from cancer just last summer.
