These guys (origonally from S2) have been doing some amazing stuff, utilizing many things that the Unreal 3 engine has been showing off, and some of their own tricks such as a unified lighting, shadowing, and shading system. It is their own engine.

The current form that it is in is fully using DX9.0C including motion blur and per pixel lighting on everything. The images and movies are rendered in real time. They started out on NV35s, also comments on how much of an improvment it was for them when nVidia sent them NV40s to work with.

You can read a journal type deal that they have been updating pretty regularly here:

the game itself is defined here:

movies can be downloaded here:

no one cares about the amazing things the next year or two will bring it seems? For shame. Makes me think more users here just buy the hardware and dont put it to good use when this gets neglected ):. Watch 1 vid, if you arent wow'd you need to buy a console.

yeah ive been keeping an eye on this game for a while. since they putup the site for the game. the first real time demo video is really cool. sadly only 3 guys are working on it, so i guess it will take some time to finish and release.. if at all. looks like a great game though. cant wait!

wow... looks delicious. Do I sense a WoW and GW killer in the making?? heh

Wow, that looks fantastic. I can't even dream of my current system running that on the lowest settings possible. That's just... wow.

Considering Sam McGrath (lead developer) keeps saying there is no hardware out that can do the game acceptably at the time of the NV40, also saying things like "The only thing I wish it had was the ability to access more than 16 textures in a single pass" (which is still what the G70 is capable of despite having 24pipes) and the fact it requires in its current state, SM2.0 at least, i think they have given themselves a nice big time window. In 2 years hopefully games powered by engines like these will be the status quo's for computer graphics, as it really does put just about everything out to shame.

yeah, and think about the power of the hardware we will have that is going to power those graphics. we can only dream for now, but damn its gonna be nice

I don't see how UE3 looks better than that man. They're about the same I think, prolly cuz they rely on the same technology :D

The 2nd video is like.......wow.

Games are just getting sicker and sicker. Imagine 4-5 years from now what we'll be playing.

I remember when Donkey Kong Kountry on the SNES was bad ass , and Mario 64 was amazing. That was just 9 years ago.

We will just plug the game into our head!
If you die in the game... Your die in real life!

haha, gave me a good laugh you perverts.

I really like the graphics and the effects done. Cant wait to play it ;) ;) ;)

Well when they have an actual working game that we can test, I'll get excited. Till then it's just hype. I've been let down too much lately to get excited about upcoming games anymore, BF2 being a great example.
