Well today was a hell of a day and ill tell you why. Well I went out with the intentions of getting a drill press. Acidently we ended up going to the seares hardware store near by and lo and behoold they where having a going out of bisuness sale 50% most items! So sience this only ever happens everyonce in a blue moon my mom let me spend my christmas money now $300 bucks worthof tools baby! 1st i grabbed a DeWalt 10" miter saw :) then a craftsman drill press 9" clamps, hammers, dremel stuff, hole saws and tool box along with a list of small insignificant stuff that isnt worth mentioning.

Drill press

Drill assembled and miter saw!

Ok I have an antec neopower and I need to take the PCB out but there are a few things in my way. #1 the ground screw #2 the power plug and switch on the back. Here are a few pictures to help you help me (please). And I also need to wire a new fan up to it for my project here.

Here is a better more clear picture of the CD drive bay & my aluminum cutting saw blade I got for 99cents.

Woke up and waited today, for what you ask who else? Besides!

Heres what he brought!
8x14" 1"x1" Aluminum Angle 6063
4x12" 1"x1" Aluminum Angle 6063
1x 14"x14" 5052 1mm Aluminum Sheet
1x 14"x14" 5052 1.6mm Aluminum Sheet
4x 12"x14" 5052 1mm Aluminum Sheet

Time to get to work!

45 Degree cuts for the corners of the frame.

Befor I got to perfecting it.......

.....and after I got to it.

Well I didnt have the internet so that gave me time to call some welders :) b/c i cant afford a welder/have the know how to do anything with it. So i called a few places and the great part about it is i got in good talking with one of the guys at a fabrication shop nearby and he said he would charge no labor :) . So im going to have the frame welded together and the front and bottom panels of the case. He aslo said if theres anything I need bent or shaped he would be glad to do it and maybe even let me help.

Well today I went to go see the local welder out of the phone book (not exspeckting much). So Ive never been or seen this place befor so we are driving along and we come to it OMG GIANT WAREHOUSE PLACE. Turns out the guy has a full fleged machine shop metal bruners, water jet, huge bending brake,CNC's ect. The great part about all this is I hit it off with the owner and he is going to have my stuff done on the side and for a ever minimal cost to me. So im getting the frame for my case welded and some of the side panels welded on and the back and top put of with machine screws. Wait it gets better. I asked if the guy new any powder coates he knows a guy right down the road that is one of his good freinds and can get me in for nothing just cost of materials. But there is a catch to all this I have to help make it in the shop (score!). Ill be taking lost of pictures don't worry guys.

I did some mucking around in photoshop and this will be the top window of the case lazer eched by either Mmods or vouyer mods.

Good stuff so far!

My only personal recomendation... i would have gone with 2024 aluminum over 5052, unless you plan on welding. 2024 generally tends to be a bit stronger in the "sheering" department... Just for overall strength as well.

OOPS! sorry to spoil anything if welding was involved ;)

//edit: whoa, how did i miss your last post. Good call on the 5052 after all :D im a putz.

So this Maure guy... he sits at the top of a mountain and looks shady? Geez... I could do that.

on-topic: you're in quite the string of good luck. I am jealous.

<Me waits for more>
Sounds like alot of good luck went your way, hope it stays for the case to finish. :)

I would be having the case welded but the guy is currently making things like water shut off vales and machinery for the people in new orleans so i told him to take his time :)

I would just like to say that you have a long driveway :D

Lookin good keep it up.
