Hi

Maybe you know my case from other forums
I use the lianli v1100b case which is very noble, so i decidet to make an very discreet mod.
A composition of black aluminium, carbon and uv-plexiglas inside of the case.
Except of the radiator and the pump all water blocks are custom made.

The name of the project is according to the pest plaque in the 14th century
(why? i dont know :D )

Sorry for my bad english but i am from Germany.

So lets start:

First of all the case:

lianli1.jpg

lianli1.2.jpg

At the beginning i removed all useless parts in the case

lianli2.jpg

then i used a dremel to cut a 120mm hole in the bottom of the case
(quite ugly but later you cant see it)

lianli9.jpg

this hole is for the fan of the aqua-computer airplex evo radiator
mounted here

lianli3.jpg

lianli6.jpg

now it was time for the internal space
here i use mirror plexiglas to get a bigger and cleaner look

lianli4.jpg

i wanted to have an very special reservoir in front of the mainboard
so i cut some plexiglas

this is the first test

lianli7.jpg

lianli8.jpg

the next step are the waterblocks

first the cpu block
i took 5mm copper and drilled 16 holes in it

duese3.1.jpg

then i made the first plexiglas top

duese3.8.jpg

then the last top and all other parts
(first i made blue plexi parts, they´ll be orange later

duese3.2.jpg

the first test of all parts

duese3.7.jpg

at night

duese3.5.jpg

duese3.6.jpg

then the first test in my old case

duese3.10.jpg

duese3.11.jpg

then i bought a new aquastream 3.5 from aqua-computer
this is a great pump

my ram is very hot so i made a fan holder
this are 2 stripes of uv-plexiglas and one 1mm plexiglas
it fits perfekt in the 4th ram slot

lukueram2.jpg

now i went on to build the water blocks for my x800xt and the nf4 northbridge

first i made a positioning device

x8ram1.jpg

then i saw some chopper

x8ram2.jpg

after some soldering

x8ram5.jpg

it is very thin

x8ram3.jpg

the same with the northbridge cooler

nb_nf41.jpg

nb_nf42.jpg

the mounting is made of uv-plexiglas

x8ram6.jpg

x8ram7.jpg

x8ram8.jpg

and now the final water block in my old pc for some testing

x8ram12.jpg

x8ram13.jpg

x8ram11.jpg

i went on with some "boring" stuff

first some new mirror in the case

lianli10.jpg

then i bought a aquastream
the controller in the front

lianli11.jpg

the aquastream buffer

lianli13.jpg

and a overview; aquastream and airplex evo 120

lianli12.jpg

i nearly finished my custom reservoir

enjoy it :D

lianli14.jpg

lianli15.jpg

lianli16.jpg

after some gluing with acrifix, today i started my first test of the res
and it is leakproof
:rock:

lianli17.jpg

lianli18.jpg

then i installed all water blocks and hardware in the case

first of all the corsair ram cooler in detail

lianli19.jpg

then the harddrive

lianli20.jpg

the complete view in daylight

lianli21.jpg

and at night

lianli22.jpg

lianli23.jpg

lianli24.jpg

lianli25.jpg

lianli26.jpg

lianli27.jpg

at the moment i am waiting for some materials

:) :)

wow that ram cooler is awesome. well actually all of it is awesome, custom and all! good job man! i would love to see some more or have you write up some more about this ram cooler and how a dual fan setup might work and how you got the bit to fit in the 4th ram slot etc.

very inovative ram cooler

that gfx cooler is badass :D shows you're high skills

but wouldn't the coolant get dirty trough the open res?

I have never seen such a creative Video Card cooler, all hand made to boot.
THAT'S VERY AWESOME WORK!
:)

I agree with El Rolio. Can you tell us how you mounted the fan bracket inside the 4th ram slot? That is crazy.

excellent craftsmanship!

one thing i don't like though is the mirror finish. it makes the inside look cluttered. i prefer a clean, sparse look. anyway ... great job!

whoa!! awesome job dude! Like everyone said, very nice and original coolers. That res is really cool too. You should keep it so that it's a little fountain in there still....maybe put in some UV dye.

P.S. your english is just fine. a lot better than some others I have seen. ;)

Awesome job man.

I especially like the innovative ram cooler. I have never seen this before.

Would you mind if I "borrowed" this idea to cool my ram? :D

Very nice job so far man!

I'm loving the custom waterblocks and ram cooler =). Maybe try this though, try shortening up some of the tubes on the ram cooler? It might look a lot cleaner instead of looping them like a O formation.

thanks @ all for your compliments :)

@DarkenReaper57
no problem, it is allways a compliment when somebodys "borrows" my work ;)
the only "condition" i have is that you´ll make some pictures :D

@LunchboX3904
i love the small fountain in the res, if it would be bigger, the pump and the plashwould be louder
so it is a good compromise

@JOKER_JOKER/el rolio

for the corsair ram cooler i used a stripe of 1mm acrylic glas and copyed the contours of the ddr ram
then i made 2 stripes of uv-reactive acryl formed them at ~160°c, mounted the fan and glued the 2 stripes at the ram copy
so i am able to push the complete cooler into the ram socket :)
quite simple

@shadowlord
the complete mod is not ready yet
the res gona get a cap

Hmmm, where did you get the plexiglass for your res and other things?

Also, what exactly did you use in the ram slot? A piece of metal or plastic?

oh god, time to change my pants... again...

that looks sweet! i love it. nice plexi work!

He used a 1mm think piece of plexi.

I'm not quite sure but i'd hesitate to use metal in my RAM slot :p

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It really wouldn't matter as long as the metal didnt come into contact with the metal pins, though.

How does your CPU block perform? It looks like it would be pretty easy to make, and there are still quite a few people who make their own waterblocks.

Overall, very nice work!

Excellent job... woah... some of that cooling I don't even understand, especially that bent pipe in the middle of the case that seems to have ice in it in one of the pics... what the heck is going on here :)

Nice pics too btw, very crisp

Man! This is fucking great. You are the shit.

I saw this on BT, and I was floored. This is one of the most elegant and completely hand-done mods I have seen of late. You, sir, deserve a medal for your efforts. Hope to see more soon!

Good luck and ModSpeed.

wow, thats some l33t ass looking waterblocks 0_0 and your rig is more UV than Revenants! nice work man! :D

as everyone has already said, great job man.

i think if you started making more of those ram coolers, you would have quite a few people wanting to buy them off of you!

how did you get that mirror finish?

I just ordered the same case, waiting for it, and i was wondering how cool it looks with a cool gear inside, and as i can see yours is killing!

I have a question about the ram cooling, do you have an idea on how to fabricate something to cool 4 ram chips (512mb UTT) with an 80mm fan? You'd need to clip something to the side, I'm curious though. I have the same motherboard, and your work is superb.

Thanks in advance.

so you use acrifix to glue all that stuff together? Neat
Er and you made your own waterblocks? Thats neat stuff how did you make the ones on the video ram? I have seen worklogs of people making waterblocks but never memory sink blocks.

I was also curious as to how the custom waterblocks perform. I am also curious how exactly it works, cuz I see the 16 holes, but I don't see the space inbetween the plexiglass and the copper for the coolant to travel. thnk for the info in advance, and sweet work.

thanks :) :)

@DarkenReaper57
it is plexiglas

@penguin
very good
a64 @ 2600mhz @ prime95 @ max 42°
but you know, you cant trust temp sensors

@Stormlifter
this pipe is the res
the ice you call it are small pieces of glas
it should look like ice

@Project_2501
this is a bit difficuld but you can solve it
maybe ill try some things in the future...

@matt00926
yes

ok now its time for the window

fenster1.jpg

to get a straight line

fenster2.jpg

finished

fenster3.jpg

i uses some special plastic film

fenster3.2.jpg

first test
inside dark-outside light -> mirror

fenster4.jpg

inside light-outside dark -> the window is clear

fenster5.jpg

;D

it is a special film
you only can see inside the case when it is light in it otherwise it´ll be a mirror

How would it fall over? The thing is like a tank.

And, thanks for the reply. I really don't know where to start to mount a cooler on the ram w/o using a slot...

I like the small window but now you have to do something to the rest of the panel its blank.
