Project 10103 EUEs

Checked my HFM status to see that one GTX275 and one 9800GX2 went EUE on p10103 within an hour or so of each other

GTX275: P10103 (R471, C6, G33) Completed: 11 Failed: 5

9800GX2: P10103 (R891, C6, G33) Completed: 10 Failed: 6

Both cards are at stock speeds.

Coincidence?

No, not coincidence. I had one this noon and several over the past week on different systems. There are some lambda WUs which seem to be problematic.

Golly, I'd say so.

You'd think when Pande gets 60% of a specific WU returned back to them they might make some changes.

Particularly since, if not closely monitored, it results in 24 hours of inactivity.

I can hear it now though.

Me: "Guys, these WUs suck"

Them: "Don't overclock your cards"

Me: I didn't

Them: Your PSU sucks

Me: Enermax Revolution 1050W

Them: the GPU vendor sucks

Me: It's EVGA

Them: You must be doing something wrong. Whatever the case may be, it's not our fault, so clearly the problem is on your end.

^^ I think that's their reply to ANY EUE complaints. That's why I've never complained to them about my 8800GT EUE issues....I know it'll fall on deaf ears.

The thing is there are so many things that can cause issues, plus the issues are not always repeatable.
WU's go through pretty extensive testing internally by the devs, then by beta users, and when it works for most beta testers it gets released to -advmethods, then to the public.
Also GPU process WU's so fast that someone else will also pick it up and they get results they needed anyways. So its not always worth the time required to fully investigate EUE's, because its working for most people, there are always going to be anomalies, but you have to draw a line somewhere.

Yeah, I know what you mean...it's just a head-banging migraine-inducing thing when things don't go right (APOLLO knows this all too well apparently). Can't really do much about it but sometimes the b!tc#!ng and moaning helps. heh heh

btw 56% complete on p10103 and no problems yet..

finished my 10503 WU perfectly fine on a GTX 260 216 55nm running 600/1458/1161 on windows xp.. temps were actually about 8C lower running that WU then the temps are now running the 10502 WU..

I've got an 8800GTX that just does NOT like them. It EUE's as soon as I get it.

For what its worth, my two GTX 260's @ 720/1584/1080 have only EUE'd maybe 4 work units since I got them right before new years and I think all of them were because of me screwing around with the overclock. And yes I've had them running pretty much 24/7 since I got them with the exception of some gaming and some power outages.

After crunching along fine for a few days, including finishing several 10103s, one of my GTX275 gets a bad one, and I'm away from home and can't fix it. So frustrating.

I had a 24hr timeout occur on one of my clients because of a Lambda earlier around noon.

I'm still getting them dealt to me and my cards are processing them. Better yet, I have not had a EUE for anything all day and no bluescreens from bad OCs.

Now it's project 10504 that's being a PITA. The first EUE I've had in days.
