Specs: SN25P stock with AMD 64 3700+
1 gig Patriot PC3200
Diamondmax 10 SATA 300gig
BFG Nvidea Geforce 6800
Sony DVD Rom Drive

I have had numerous problems. First i would have my system to to a blue screen at times saying its doing a physical memory dump then restart. Other times it will just freeze whether its on my desktop or while i am playing a game. Some times it just restarts randomly. Most times it goes to a black screen and says windows has encountered an error would u like to boot in safe mode, safe mode with networking, last known good configuration or start windows normally. Other times it says there has been a "Disk Boot Error". I have tried numerous things which i thought might ave been cause of overheating. I leae the cover off of the case and it still does these various things. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like it could be a memory issue. Run Memtest86 . Is this overclocked at all?

SN25P's also have had bad SATA cables that can do some funny things. Also, make sure you're running the latest BIOS.

No it isn't overclocked at all and i had run memtest and it said everything was fine. I dont have a floppy drive and im kinda of weary of updating my bios
 
ok i updated the bios and all and its still hanging on boot and randomly freezing. to hange the SATA cables can i get them local or i have to order from newegg
 
Just get em from where ever you can get em :) get named brand ones though. I used Akasa SATAII SecureLatch cables in my old SN25P and worked really well
 
it is a sata cable problem you have to swap them out if you're having the problems you mentioned.

same thing happened to me. i swapped the cables, and everything runs great!
 
If it is the SATA problem and you're having problems just be thankful you aren't running a RAID 0 array like I was when my cables went sideways. Lost everything that wasn't backed up, not critial but still a huge PITA.
 
so any old SATA cables will work? do i need a certain kind or whats the diff
 
There's no technical difference between SATA cables. Other than length and colour.
Just get one from a named brand such as Akasa so you have higher quality cables.
 
There is a great SSF site called sfftech.com, there fourms have some good post on this subject.
