Problems with new memory

I'm so dissapointed with my new memory. I was running 1g Corsair Value Ram (2x512). I had my FSB bumped up to 230 with no problems. So I thought i would upgrade my memory. I bought some 2g OCZ Plat. Edition...(2x1g). It can't even handle my FSB at 215. It freaks out. Windows won't load correctly and when it does load nothing will open. Nothing will work...errors constantly shutting the programs down. I can't believe that CVR will out perform OCZ. I didn't think I would have this problem. I tried some dividers but the OCZ didn't like that at all. I also tried uping the voltage...no luck.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Here are the specs of my current system....

AMD 64 3800+ X2
DFI nF4 Ultra D
OCZ Plat Edition 2-3-2-5-7
eVGA 7800GT
160g WD HD
450 Fortron PSU

I would set everything back to stock settings and then run Memtest86.
Can you run three loops with no errors ?

If you can then start upping the speed and use Memtest to find out where the memory starts to fail.
If not the you may well have a bad stick, test each one singly for errors.

Luck........... :D

Go and specifically buy some RAM with TCCD or BH-5 or UTT or BH-6. These type of ram chips are almost gaurenteed to give you a good fsb pump..

you could always keep your current ram and change the dividier 3/4

But whats the point in buying better RAM if you have to use a divider?

DFI boards are picky bitches (I know you know this), theres got to be one little detail you're missing. Do a total reset of CMOS (remove battery or change the jumper) and start from absolute scratch. If all else fails, I'll help you with it at the Dec. 28th mini LAN. I've learned alot from messing with my own DFI board, maybe I can throw some magic mojo at your board and make it work.

BTW, you should update your sig.
