Problems Posting w/ Gigabyte P35-DS3R

Hey everyone... I have a problem with my Gigabyte board (GA-P35-DS3R). When I shut down, hibernate, or sleep, and then turn it on, it will go into these weird restart cycles (the fans and everything will operate for about 3 s) but will eventually continue to boot into Vista. When I'm in Vista, doing intensive gaming, etc. it's perfectly stable.

This happens when I overclock or have things on the factory settings. When I do overclock and the restart cycle starts kicking in, my overclocked settings will return to the factory settings. The voltages don't change, however. Even when these factory setting are restored (that is, the ones in M.I.B. for the BIOS), it'll still do those weird restart cycles.

I've tried resetting the CMOS and still nothing...

Voltages are adequate for stability, IMO. CPU Voltage @ 1.2625-1.3 (tried everything within those ranges). (G)MCH, FSB, PCI-Express set to +0.1v. Even tried increasing these to +0.3v to see if the restart cycles would go away but to no avail.

Help me =/

You are aware that in order to actually save the advanced bios settings such as voltage increase, bus speed increase etc you have to enter Ctrl plus F1 on that board? Then you can go adjust, save and go.

Up the voltage. You may be unlucky in that you got a CPU that needs more voltage.

As for those restart cycles, update the BIOs and see if anything changes.

Tried it. Got advanced bios settings. Nifty feature.

Still didn't save those settings from going back to default.

As for upping the voltage, that didn't work either. Upgrading/downgrading bios between F10 and F11 versions didn't work either.

I think my board's defective.

I'm surprised you haven't heard, but the current crop of Gigabyte boards all experience this issue. Try googling gigabyte cold boot.
