I purchased an iPod Nano from this user last Saturday.

No responses ever since, and supposedly he lives in Indiana, I am in Illinois.

Another member bought an item from him and no response for him either and he has started a paypal claim, I would recommend staying far away from this user, as I am pretty sure it is the same person who has also run scams off the EVGA forums.

Thanks,
Marc

Whomever it was that bought his xBox 360 elite, please let me know if this is the same picture of the one he had listed so I can confirm that this is in fact the same user:

He has not logged on since the 1st. It looks like he has an email addy on his heatware profile, have you tried to contact him that way? Did you pay through paypal?

Paid through paypal as did the other user, not worried about the small amount of cash, just do not want other members to be taken victim.

Trust me if I pulled the image above out of the same photobucket account as his previous scam jobs he tried, if that is teh same xBox 360 he was trying to sell here, there will be no contacting him, I had his phone numbers etc... He just wouldn't answer, until one of my friends showed up on his door step because I tracked down his address.

He has decent heat dating back 3 years, he does not look like a scammer.

Try what Techdude recommended and see if you can contact him thru his heat email

no contact for 6 days is not a good trading practice, but IMHO its a bit early to call him out publicly

EDIT: also , looking at his heat again, 14 of his evals were from sales right on this forum.....the first one back in 2006......

It has been 3 weeks for the other user, who sent me a pm when I replied in his for sale thread.

He has started a paypal claim, it is sad to see people taken advantage of like this and that is why this thread is here.

3 weeks is definitely long enough.

This is what he did on EVGA

He had a couple user accounts, and would bump his own threads, and he was an EVGA tech. (this would all be confirmed if that xbox 360 photo above is the same one as the one he had for sale.)

his username then was BOOSTIN240

Trust me had I not run across that xBox in that photobucket account I may have thought twice about it, but I really believe this is the same person.

Heck the scam back on Evga he came straight out and said he scammed me, then no contact again, he made a good name for himself then BAM.

Notice his post count is at 420, its not random it is very well thought out.

If I am wrong I will be the first to apologize.

Thanks,
Marc

No that was not the same picture but it was definitely a 360 Elite with a bunch of other stuff (2 controllers, 6 games, hdmi cable, etc) included for the price.

He said he the needed money for a traffic ticket so that fits with his MO.

Please, DO NOT post personal info in the thread. At this point it is to early for that

Those were the numbers I was given.

Yes let's keep personal info out for now, sorry about that. This thread is to inform and hopefully call out this person that is possibly not the same person although it does seem to be.

His excuses before were always traffic tickets, drives a 240sx turbocharged (boostin, reference to turbocharger)

HAHA I know where he lives LMAO

I am just shocked that he had the gaul to pull this kind of crap again.

I do not expect to hear from him here or otherwise and if he does show his face, I expect the same excuses.

We can see where this goes, and this time I will be pursuing legal repercussions as I have about 5 people that will get involved all within the last three years so all cases against him will be valid in court.

Sorry Austin but this you have brought upon yourself.

Any updates to this? I see he has logged in and even posted in his thread and closed it.

He sent me an email with tracking number through USPS that there is no record of. If he lives in Indiana like he says I am in Illinois and should have the package tomorrow.

We will see, not hopeful at this point.

It would be helpful to post the number, so we can see if it's actually a valid USPS number, if it came off of a DC slip or via an online label, etc

or to see if he sent the same number to both parties that received tracking numbers, that would be "interesting" to say the least...

So, that's a number from a physical green DC form, which isn't necessarily going to be scanned at acceptance, or along the way. It's called delivery confirmation for a reason ;)
Anyway, that one is actually in the system now, so, it's looking up

True for the most part, but the last 4-5 packages I have sent/received from USPS Priority actually had real time tracking like UPS/FEDEX. I was surprised. :D

If you ask it to be scanned and get a receipt from their system then it gets scanned along the way too. I wised up to this as I got tired of seeing 'the shipper has advised the USPS '... blah blah. Shows acceptance, scans at major sorting centers and delivery.

According to the two tracking numbers, he would have sent my package first. Doesn't make sense to me.

If it was in Elk Grove on the 12th, which is what that tracking shows, it should have been delivered today and was not. I will post back tomorrow and let you all know what happened.

Well, actually according to the tracking numbers, they were both shipped the same day, within a minute of eachother...

Yeah got the iPod today, has someone elses name on it, is engraved in the back, and does not look clean like the one in the photo, which I saved by the way before he got the chance to delete the one from the listing.

My paypal claim will stay open and he can have this POS back.

Definitely feel like he did what he did because he was called out.

Wonder how the other package went.

I have not seen this yet. It may be at the PO sitting there and I plan on checking tomorrow morning but I have not gotten a notification slip either. The status page for the item tracking on the usps site has not changed either. I will post when/if I get this.

A package apparently arrived for me on Monday. I am unfortunately out of town for a couple days so I have not seen it but will update when I have a chance to check it out for real well.

Well I picked up my package and got it opened.

Missing the HDMI cable as was stated as being included. Wasn't too forthcoming on the condition of stuff.

Items were definitely from a smoking household as everything was filthy with residue. Had to spend time wiping stuff down and cleaning out lots of dust and residue from the system side grills as well. Stinks like smoke as well.

Haven't had time to fire it up yet and have to work all day today.

dude you also didnt explain what my pm's stated. there was a death in my family... i was outa god damn state for 3 weeks... Yes I understand I could have pm'd you guys but that was the last thing on my mind... now you have MY xbox and my money..... give one back and quit bein a fuckin ass

marcam you didnt bother posting what i said either.. you got an ipod nano for $30 some bucks i offered you to return it if u wernt happy but what did you tell me.... Stop trying to give me a bad name

You need to give the guy his money dude. If you received the stuff don't be a douche.

I only received the items on Monday (8/17/09) first of all. Enough time after he was paid (7/14/09) to begin with and said that he would ship the next day or the same day if payment was received before 5pm (which it was sent before 12pm). I also asked repeatedly in his other thread about it's shipping status and repeated PMs which were not answered even when he was online on here and was subsequently accused of threadcrapping. If you want proof go look for the thread.

Since I stated that I also was out of town on here for a few days when it apparently finally arrived I did not have a chance to look it over. Items were not in a condition I was/am happy with which I updated this with. I would not have purchased the items had I known the details of their condition.

I do not see that this has been resolved in my favor either by the email from Paypal that I discovered when I returned home today.

Edit:

He is more than welcome to have his stuff back if he wants to refund all my money. Or we can come to an agreement of a partial refund for the cost of a useable controller and the missing HDMI cable.

I stopped posting here, because AZBOOSTIN and I completed everything we needed to through pm's.

I paid $40 for the iPod Nano. Now I can sell it for whatever I want, because it was a birthday present and in this user's down time, I had to buy another one.

Also he had a death in the family and was away from the computer for 3 weeks huh? Desn't sound like a likely story to me, since he sold me the iPod on a Sunday and responded to multiple pm's back and forth about the sale, then no responses at all until the following Friday.

My claim was cancelled, and things were settled, now he wants to call me out and anotehr user of no involvement wants to accuse me of what? Selling my iPod Nano that I piad for on another forum because I ended up with two when I got no response from AZBOOSTIN.

It took more than a month for the item to show up for the Xbox to show up for the other member. Sounds like someone was selling something they did not have using someone elses pictures if you ask me.

I have cleared what happened, yes you said you had a death in the family. I told you, when you sell things you have a responsibility within reason.

For me it was a week, but you said you were gone 3 weeks?

Please explain.
