Problem with the Seasonic 620W

I just bought this S12II 620W 2 weeks ago.
So here's the problem:I randomly checked in Everest and it showed that the 5v line was jumping between 4.97 and 4.99v.Other lines are still above and in their limits of specification.I didn't have this problem with my old crappy PSU so i measure the line by a voltmeter.Since i couldn't reach the exposed wires in 24 pins connector,i had to measure it on the Molex connector.The 5v line was indeed on 4.9v,and the 12v line was on 11v at idle :mad:
So the question is,is the measurement i did on the Molex connector different too much from the actual reading i could get?And should i return this unit to the distributor as it'd take me a lot of time to do so.

You do realize 4.9v is completely within specifications for the 5v line right? the 5v line can go down to a minimum of 4.75v and be within spec. Also it's unlikely the 12v line would be at 11v.

I do.But it still gave me some concerns because i thought it should above the 5v line.I was also told that the Seasonic specification was 3%.

And the voltmeter did show the 12v was at exactly 11v.
@450:Everest shows all the lines,including vcore:
vcore @1.42v
3.3v @3.33v
5v @4.97-4.99v
12v @12.04v
 
4.9v is within 3% regulation easily. Also the spec is + or -3% not only +3%. Your concern is completely unfounded. Please read up on the ATX spec.
 
Software voltage readings are known to be very inaccurate. However, you should get yourself a different multireader (voltmeter) to test the voltages: The voltmeter that you used is even more inaccurate than software.
 
Maybe i was overreacted as this is the first time i buy something "high-end" like that.I guess i'd try another voltmeter before returning for another unit.Thanks for the help. :D

Heh sorry, I didn't mean ATX spec in this case. I meant whatever he was saying about 3% regulation on the psu he bought.

Also just to mention the Seasonic S12II is most certainly not high end at all. It's a moderate budget group regulated psu. A very good one at that. If you were buying high end, you would have bought a Seasonic X-series
 
I meant "high-end" to me as it was one of the most expensive components i've ever bought.The X-series was off the grid lol.

Pretty sure most of the Corsair Power Supply line is/was/has been made by Seasonic. And Corsair makes some of the most respected power supplies around.

My old HX620 that I'm finally replacing was made by Seasonic and it's been fantastic.

Not most actually. A lot of Corsair's lineup is made by CWT now.
 
Lol we should make a debate, troll or noob. Cuz that guy is one or the other. All pros know seasonic is awesome. Although this guy probably thinks dynex and rocketfish are the bee's knees.
