HI there, I hope that some experts on this forum could help shed some light on some strange 'problem' that my younger bro is encountering with his new build.
First off, when the computer is turned on, within seconds it would shut itself down and then turn itself on again before posting and starting windows, is this normal? from my experience, i do not think it is but the computer is working fine except for the initial turning off n then turning on again prob.
2ndly, his motherboard is an MSI P35-neo2 FR, there is this software called dual core centre that monitors the fan speeds, voltages etc of the motherboard, and half way into using the computer, the alarm always sounds warning us that the CPU fan is behaving irregularly, varying between 1950 rpm and 0 rpm. Now when i look at the cpu fan, it seems to be functioning perfectly fine with no variance in speed, so again i ask, what might be causing this warning that somehow is contradictory.
THe specification of his build is as below :
MSI P35 Neo2 Mobo
Intel C2D E4500
2gb pc800 ddr2 ram
WD 320GB sataII HDD
dvd burner
Gigabyte geforce 8500gt 512mb graphics card
Raidmax Smilodon case with 5 case fans
Coolermaster extreme power 430w PSU
My initial reaction is to put the blame on the psu but for what its worth, i do not think that the above hardware configuration would put much of a strain on the psu.
Anyone has any ideas as to what might be causing this 'problem'? Any help is greatly appreciated....
PS. I am now running prime95 to see if it would detect any errors.
