Recently i bought a Pentium 4 2.8 ghz (533 fsb) for my Asus P4S533 mobo which supposedly supports this cpu. After installation, everything seemed to be just fine until i started noticing my mouse cursor was incredibly jittery. I figured i could live with it but it's become something that actually hinders my work efforts.
I've updated the bios to the lastest version, tried two different sets of ram, two different hard drives (running in DMA mode) each with a new installation of win xp pro, removed cards, disabled different things in the bios, updated drivers for the sis chipset... all of which have done nothing to help the problem.
This has happened before with new hardware installations and the way i solved it last time was to format and reinstall; this is no longer fixing the problem.
My setup:
P4 2.8 ghz 533 fsb
Asus P4S533
PNY PC2700 512 mb
Maxtor 160 gig (7200, 9.3 ms)
GF4 TI 4400
Sound Blaster Audigy - Gamer
Crappy HP CD-r
DVD drive
appreciate any help at all
Thanks.
