Hey

I've only ever setup loops using clear tubing before but I am using white tubing for this new setup.... I haven't installed it yet but when I do and fill the loop whats the best way to ensure all the bubbles are out etc.... Obviously I can't see them through the white tubing.
 
^^^What he said. You'll see the bubbles pouring into the res and when they are gone and the coolant no longer looks frothy (afer tilting and turning your system in all directions serveral times) you should be good to go.
 
You might be able to go by the sound, usually if there are any bubbles I hear a "swishing" sound from the pump as the bubbles go through. When the system starts running quietly most if not all of the bubbles are gone.
 
Yeah, sound is how I tell if air is bled out. If my pump or blocks are making crackling or popping noises then I know there's still air left in the loop. Even with the XSPC res top, which is a big pain for bleeding, it only takes a couple hours. I tilt my case a little bit and shake it when it's getting close to the end to knock out stray bubbles, but they're all gone within a couple hours of it running.
 
sound, my setup sounded like a water fountain at first only once 99% of the air was gone did it become silent.
in addition to tipping I find flicking the tubing causes the small bubbles to release from the tubing and connectors

I've never used a res (only a T line) so i can't comment on their usefulness
(although I plan to use one space permitting next time)

trust me a res saves a lot of messing about, i had to use a zip tie and keep poking it down the tube into the t-line just to get rid of most of the bubbles last time i used one.

I'm going to give a res a try on my next build, the 5 hours it took me to get the air out of my system was a painful night.
 
My loop bleeds 99% of the air out in about 10 minutes with the XSPC Resevoir top on my pump, all I need to do is tip it sideways at a 45° angle and leave it running. I top the res off again and leave it to leak test overnight with the pump powered by an AC->12v DC adapter.
