Prices already going through the roof.

I considered picking up a Maxsun B580 with the 2 M.2 SSD slots for an upgrade.
As an update on my previous problems with the Intel Arc. https://hardforum.com/threads/my-arc-380-adventure.2021738/
The Asrock A380 card I received would not give me a boot screen. Nothing, I tried different drivers and enabled the resizable bar. The motherboard and CPU allegedly both supported this card.
That card was sent back as dead to Newegg.
I tried my friend's A380 he wass using on his Plex server and changed nothing. The card worked, so I rolled the dice and bought another and the result is I now have a 100% reliable A380 (6Gig) running Plex.
Now, I was looking at upgrading the card to the newer card, but I think I can hold off for a long while, there is no real need. Adding to the fire of price gouging by buying one helps no one who really needs an upgrade. Sadly, scalpers have already started jacking up the OEM price. The B580 was an incredible value at $250 compared to the RTX460, but that price/performance ratio just dropped.
Scalpers need to die.

Yeah it really is a shame we have deal with this on so many launches now. People just need to be patient and refuse to buy from third party sellers. It’s not a gpu mining boom anymore or anything.

I bought mine at Microcenter and it was the last one in stock. They showed 7 in stock a couple of hours later showed 1 so I pounced on it.

Today the MC here shows 8 of the Sparkle Titan.
(I bought the AsRock Steel Legend the other day)

I haven’t seen the Intel Limited Ed there so far but admittedly I wasn’t checking every day.

This launch is looking a bit papery. Amazon, Newegg and B&H had a few and sold out right away. My local Microcenter had 10 or so on Friday before they opened. They sold out, but it took a couple hours even though they were accepting online orders for pickup on them. On the other hand I don't think Best Buy had any. I have to wonder if Best Buy didn't want to carry it at launch and others limited how many the orders due to uncertainty about Intel pulling off a successful launch.

It's good for Intel that scalpers are buying them, but bad for consumers if they have to buy them from a scalper. Hopefully no one buys them from a scalper, let them lose money for a change.

here we go again. was going to get one for my dad for bday gift but prices are crazy or out of stock everywhere . rrrrr:eek:

The AMD and NVIVIDA launches will be much the same thing i bet. For those of us not hoveirng over the buy button 24/7 or with the time to wait in long lines, I wonder when we might be able to buy at MSRP

The B580 was such a great value. Intel did good for the consumers by producing a card that beats out the 4060 and the 7600 for just $249.

Of course the Scalpers saw this and then bought up all the stock. This is why we can't have nice things.

Greedy assholes will try to FLIP these for more than $100 higher than MSRP.

So far the scalpers only seem to be moving 1-2 units a day on eBay. 3 on Christmas. So far they've sold 26 units on eBay worldwide since launch and there are 51 current listings. I think the shortage is more of an undersupply problem, quite possibly due to AIBs and retailers being nervous after the ARC Alchemist launch and all the driver problems. Best Buy didn't stock them at all, and as best I can tell nobody had a lot of them.

I mentioned this in another thread, but on Amazon, the seller "WEELIAO" is getting all 1-star reviews because they're the only one selling Intel Arc B580's, and from $369.99 to $409.99.

I'm not surprised. I can't see scalpers getting any traction on B580s. The problem is that if they run the price up too much they're up against new cards from AMD and NV selling at retail. The main thing the B580 has going for it is it's price. Try to scalp that away and people are just going to get an NV or AMD card that's in stock and available now from a reputable vendor.

Newegg got a restock this morning prices looked like MSRP maybe +$10. Looking good. They're already gone but it was there.

Nothing will hammer Nvidia's poor 5060 decisions better than Intel selling tens of thousands of $250 12GB cards into the market before they even launch. I can only smile and say, go Intel bring the heat on the market.
