The duct pops into place with no tools using the mounting points from the original grill.

I'd say it works pretty well. Coolant temp is modulated to be more or less constant, so it's the fan speeds that tell the tale. With the AC running, the fans + D5 drop to their respective idle speeds. This was just using PUBG to generate a load. Rendering will hit both GPUs and add an additional ~350W.

Condensation with this is no joke. Switching to an insulated hose is easy enough but there is visible condensation on the side glass after a few hours. If I don't simply switch to an external cooler, I'll investigate a few options like 3M's condensation-wicking tape/film or adding ducts to the case exhaust so I can run it closed loop with an inline desiccant box.

It is indeed! Just using it for a backup CAD box right now but the dream is to find a 4090 and make it my gaming rig.

That's the Gen1 duct on the 1000D. Old thread here also shows the Gen1 AC duct. Spoiler: all of the next phases mentioned in that thread got sidelined by ADHD.

Rack sides are open because I'm a slob but also because the 1000D is too heavy to move so I need maintain side access for working on the machine. It's on a sliding shelf, but I would have to add ballast to the rack if I wanted to slide it out without the whole thing tipping over. 😆 but also 🤦‍♂️
