Prelude 7.1 MIC input doesnt work????

I bought a prelude 7.1 recently and for some reason, when the mic is plugged, with the level maxed, and with the +20 boost, I have to scream in the mic to hear the slightest sound.

Is that normal?!? Wtf, like I cant use my mic on skype anymore on a brand new 200$ card.
Aint there an option to turn on or off monitor? I dont wana hear myself when I speak ?!?

Does anyone have that card and it's working properly?

I dont know what to do

Win vista 32 bit, nforce 2 board.

It's a bug, nothing you can do about it. The mic doesn't work on the Prelude.
 
I have emailed auzentech, and all I have gotten is a lame, vague awnser.

So what, I bought a brand new 200$ sound card that cannot work with a mic? How the hell am I supposed to talk on skype and stuff? Buy a usb mic?

Can they eventually fix it or what?

However, each of our product has standard levels of MIC volume. Currently, we are replacing only the products which do not play any sounds on the MIC with new ones. What the hell is that awnser from auzen???? It doesnt awnser my question. Are they all like that? Did I get a bad one? Are there good ones? IF I RMA it, I dont want to end up with another bad one.
 
I was under the impression it's more of a driver issue. It works sometimes (if you reboot your computer enough), just at a low volume. They should be able amp it in the drivers (when it does work, it sounds fine in Ventrilo when I amp it +10db).
 
Yeah, my mic works fine in TS and Ventrillo for 10 minutes...and then vanishes for no apparent reason. This has Creative driver issue written all over it! :mad:
 
Creative is evil and loves to torture us with it's wonderful drivers. For Christmas I would like to see them admit to this.
 
TS=Teamspeak and pretty much any other VOIP program. I'm using my onboard for my mic for the moment, but hope that a driver update will fix it...actually I wonder if a driver from a Creative X-FI would run the Prelude right????

Bah it pisses me off to buy a 200$ sound card to get the best of music and gaming, and my mic does not work. I mean, wtf? They make the best sound card, but the mic does not work ?!?!?

No shit, it's like buying a bmw, but the power steering doesnt work. ?!?
