I have an older i5 750 system (LGA1156) with an even older HR-01 Plus cooler. Back-plate is currently being used with screw-in pins.

I am planning to purchase an LGA2011 (v1) motherboard and a CPU.

Officially, the HR-01 does not support LGA2011.

However, according to some sites out there, it does support LGA2011.

So, does it or doesn't it? I'm having trouble figuring out if there's anything that I will need to mount it. I've been out of the computer-building loop for a while.

Thanks!

It's more than likely compatible with socket 2011 if you buy the right adapter for it. IT looks like you need this adapter in order to reuse your old HR01:

On the Thermalright website, it does say it supports the HR01 and socket 2011. Ergo, it should allow you to installed the HR01 on a socket 2011 motherboard.
