I have been a guest here for god knows how long? Never had the courage to register :p Well looki, I did and here is my first query.

I am in the market (in the non-literal sense) for a PSU. I have gone through umpteen threads at a lot of forums (and atleast 100 here as [H] itself) but am still undecided. Also, my choices are limited to those readily available in Singapore (where my father will be going shortly) or in India (where I stay)

I have gone through the products available at "Sim Lim Tower" in Singapore and these power supplies are available (listed below.) My requirements:

1) Not skimpy on the +5V rail (By this I mean to be able to comfortably power 5-6 10K-15K RPM drives)
2) Able to support 2 180W (oced) GPUs.
3) Able to power overclocked dual core CPUs.
4) Possibly power water cooling setup.
5) All the bells and whisels.
6) Favourably have modular cables.
7) Support EPS standards.

Can you guys please help me out in choosing a proper power supply. I have gone through all stickies and am still undecided.

Please let me know your decisions. My budget is around $150-$200 (lesser better.)

Karan

I would suggest any of those Seventeam units, or the OCZ Powerstream 520W (not the 600W). I wouldn't worry much about the 5v... you won't be using that much of it.

Those Topower units with the split/combine 12v switches have been underwhelming to me so far... their better models are the ones OCZ uses for the Powerstreams.

hey man thanks for reply.

so the seventeams are good PSUs. i hvnt been able to find any reviews. can you point me to some?

also, any idea of good Modular sub $180 PSUs? because, if the topower were decent performers, it looked like a neat option (600 SG)

regd the powerstream, there r 2 models, 520W and 520WSLI. Which one to get or is there any difference?

what about the NeoHE 550W?

Can't think of any decent Seventeam reviews at the moment except for this one, but they're good units: http://www.jonnyguru.com/PSU/NexthermPSU460

The two Powerstream 520W units are identical except for fan colors and the extra PCI-E for SLI.

I'm not a fan of the Neo HE, but the 550W should work for you too.
