Hey guys I need some opinions on whether my power supply is dead, recently I upgraded my mother board, processor, ram and video card, but I didnt upgrade my power supply which is around 4+ years old: a PC power and cooling 510 watt

My problems began 2 weeks after I installed all my new stuff (current rig in sig). My rig had been running fine with my new upgrades but then....
-Computer would not turn on unless I unplugged some USB peripherals, but ran fine once it started
-now computer won't power up at all
-thought maybe motherboard was shorting out with case, but I reduced motherboard to processor, one sitck of ram, with and without vid card outside of case and computer still wont start
-I hear small noise when I plug power supply cable into power supply, and when I switch power supply on
-tried powering old mobo and processor that would turn on before but no it wont

is it my power supply? maybe power button on my case? please help! :(

Not enough info. Did you try another PSU? Can you smell anything coming from the PSU? What kind of noise are you hearing?

could he not try jumping the pins on the ATX connector to see if the power supply fires up by itself ok? this would eliminate it being something else right?
