Within the last week i have lost both of my SATA drives
one was a maxtor 250 gig that started clicking really bad and windows wouldn't allow me to boot with it plugged in.
the second one was a 120 gig seagate drive that started making a weird beep noise and it also wouln't allow me to boot into windows while it was plugged in

Both are under warrenty and the maxtor has already been replaced. My question is, is there anyway that my power supply could have caused this. I currently have an Aspire PSU (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-148-006&depa=0 )

Replacement Posibilities:
OCZ PowerStream 420W Power Supply
Fortron 530W Power Supply
Antec 430W Power Supply

Could well be a bad power supply. What are your voltages on the +12 and +5 volt rails?

Just a queation. Do you happen to have that Radeon 9800 plugged into the same power lead as your hard drives?

I had some problems with my machine when I did, and others have had hard drives die (3 in a row) from having their Radeons plugged into the same line as their hard drives.

Seems those Radeons will suck the life out of a HD with their power draw.

acutally yes i do have my radeon on that same one... i might have to reroute my power

thanks...and i have yet to get my hands on meter to test my rails

Your BIOS should give you voltages. Though an oscilloscope would be best so you could see ripple as well... Though I'd replace the PSU anyway.
