I just bought components for a quad core 4gb 8800gtx system, but I didn't feel like putting it in my old antec case which was scratched to hell and that awkward blackish brown color. I looked online at cases and found myself going back to cases like I already have.

So, being that I do a lot of automtive powdercoating ,i figured what the hell - I'll spend a few hours and powdercoat my PC case.

I was going to do wrinkle black - but I didn't have enough powder because I had to do some intercooling pipes for my car. Then I was going to do bronze metallic, but I realized that's probably a color I'd get bored of in a few months. So, I did it gloss white. My furniture is very utilitarian/gloss white and figured this would go best with the room. So, here it is hot tanked, bead blasted, and powdercoated :)

The face plate will be either low temp powdercoated or painted gloss white.
 
The shop I build my car at is a friend of mine and we have walk in ovens and blasting cabinets and all there. So, neither home nor work :)
 
I'm jealous I want access to an oven. I'm starting to think I'm ever condemned to rattle cans for the next 10 or so years.

Looks really good, btw.
 
Wow that came out really nice. For the longest time I've wanted to get my chassis powder coated and keep the panels stock, but for the life of me I cannot find a powder coat(er?)/shop anywhere near me. :(
 
powdercoating is the bomb,for sure,here are a couple pix of my case done.

I'm going to be purchasing my own powdercoating setup soon I think... They're relatively cheap actually. If you already have an air compressor, you can get the attachments for around 200$.

A powder coating system isn't too much, you can get a basic kit for like $100. My problem is I don't have an oven to bake it in. I lose both on it being a food oven and it being gas :x If anyone knows of a relatively cheap oven to buy for powder coating suggestions would be great.

Used appliance store or craigslist.

I have a blemish there that I will re-coat. Otherwise, I am happy with how it came out inside and out.
 
How did everything fit after it was powder coated, I know the coating is fairly thick, it looks like you did not do the insides of the drive cages, did you have any issues in any other areas?
 
Nah it fit back together perfect as it came out. I only left the drive cages out because I forgot to bring them to the shop.

The coating is like 1 mil thick, so it doesn't hang any parts. The door comes off normally, etc. The nice part about coating is that you can't really "do too much". Once it is "good" the powder will stop laying.
