It is just possible that Intel and chipset maker NVIDIA may come to an out of court agreement and bring these dueling lawsuits to a close. The clear cut winner will ultimately be the end user, but maybe Apple might be a winner in all of this by default.
Intel and NVIDIA were set to enter the courtroom to begin trying their case on Monday, but that date was cancelled by both parties this week. UBS analyst Uche Orji said in a note to investors that settling out of court would save both companies time and money by avoiding a lengthy trial

Intel will be like "HERE HAVE A BILLION DOLLARS LOL WE'LL MAKE THAT BACK IN A WEEK" like they did with AMD.

That's nice for Nvidia but I will still use Intel chipsets, my anger over Nforce4 hard drive corruption has not gone away.

That and the 6 series. I think I went through 8 motherboards in a year before giving up.

my 7 series wasnt any better. Never getting Nvidia chipset again. First time ever buying a $200+ MB and got burned bad. Been rocking the intel chipset since and boy are they 10x better.

i fell that apple has already jumped the shark for amd based products for their next generation lineup.

i say this since amd apu's will offer better graphics than what intel offers. in the end it will cost less than a two chip power hungry intel+nvidia solution.

Apple wants a single chip solution with good thermals in a specific power envelope with the ability to play games on good quality settings. with that said all sources point to apple's next gen using an amd apu in the future source below

after all lets face it apple has zero love for nvidia and only barely tolerates intel...

Intel chipsets for Intel CPUs!

Had a Gigabyte 650i that the memory controller failed and it ate two sets of RAM. Then went to an ASUS 750i that also had a memory controller failure taking one set of RAM with it, and the RMA board didn't last long till it had a nf200 failure where the PCI Express x16 slots would not recognize anything.

nVidia should just allow SLI on all Intel boards as AMD allows crossfire.

Must have been an aberration. Still using mine. My son is using his. The one in the kitchen is still running fine.:D

From what I know, AMD nForce chipsets were fine, just not as full featured as later comaprible AMD chipsets.

nforce 4 based amd chipsets were fine, like 590 which basicly was a 4 series for the am2.
6 and 7 series are just as bad for the amd platform.
loovely. good to have nv chipsets gone for good, is all i can say.

amd and intel chipsets lead the way, they're cheaper than nvidia's offering, lower power, and never any issues.
