Was working on expanding an array. Last night before bed one HD of the original two dropped out and crashed. Then about 5 hours later the first one did. The third and New one was apparently fine.
Rebooted, the hd that dropped out first was clicking and wouldn't allow for boot up. Took it out and rebooted and it started repairing the volume. For the past 9 hours its been doing a parity check and the second drive had been clicking the entire time as well. So I went out and got an external to back up.
Well now the check is progressing past 20%. No more clicking and still repairing.
So, once it completes, should I RMA the drive that was clicking ? Or could it have just been some bad sectors ?
Hiting around 25% 2 hours and no more clicking. Don't know what to think
