Post Your Workstations 2020

Finally got around to cleaning the desk since I start an MBA on Monday.

desk.jpg

Old 1940's bankers' desk that I purchased years ago at a Goodwill for about $80. I have another one for the wife that we also got at Goodwill for about $40!. I have 5 monitors hooked up ranging from a 17" (hanging) to a 24" Dell, 2 27" Dells, and a 23" Apple Cinema display. Behind the desk is the Dell Poweredge T430 with dual Xeon E5-2630 8 core, 16 threads each. 32gb ram, AMD Radeon RX 5600XT 6gb, Nvidia Quadro K1200 4gb, 2tb main drive, 18tb raid setup for Plex to run off of. Hopefully, soon the 17" monitor will go away and I will be replacing it with a 42" LCD 1080p TV I have not being used.

The laptop is an old Dell M6600 (2013) that still has life in it if I can get the ATI video card that I want for it to support more than 2 monitors. The white box is a Sophos SB310 running Ubuntu that I want to make into a firewall for the house, just need a good firewall program to install in Ubuntu.

Yes, that is the Return to Castle Wolfenstein game in the bottom drawer.

So it looks cool but is not fast? :D

Yup, it's an old core 2 duo e6500 that I found lying around, for now I put win 7 on it but was thinking about trying linux on it but did not see an obvious way to boot from USB on this antiquity.

For various reasons there is way too much stuff on my desk right now.. but here we are.. the old shuttle box on the corner of the desk is going to be tucked away (headless) shortly.. but chillin' with my Sony TA-N77ES / TA-E77ESD ..etc sony es stack and Yamaha NS-344 speakers (optical out to FiiO D03K from pc to Sony for now)

This was my first ever full custom build. I painted the case. This is my first custom loop. The tubing is truly copper. It took me about 3 weeks total time to finish. While waiting on parts I just used my x62 from last build. I will build a gallery of the build when I get up. Just got off from work.

The Junkyard Build

Hurray! Another copper hardline build, and it looks like you did a nice job sweating the 90degree adapters.
Do you have a link to those fittings?
Also how tight do they hold the lines?

Got a new Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL case which I have been wanting to try, and decided to go back to air cooling with my ATC 800 cooler. Still need to do some tidying up on some cables, but pretty happy how it turned out.

Long time lurker here, but finally registered. I'm one the few sim racers that play other games too that's not racing.

Setup Tour

Still very much a work in progress and Lian Li system is waiting for a Ryzen 9 59xx and 6800/XT.

Need to clean up the cables underneath a bit but overall very happy with setup progress going into 2021.

I have a custom built server that isn't listed.

Almost 2021, here's my setup for 2020.

Not a whole lot to talk about my primary PC and work laptop. Mostly just for development and occasional gaming.

The servers on the bottom picture consists of two ESXI servers and an Unraid server. The PC sitting on the carpet is just a dead weight. It's an ancient Q6600 quad core PC that I haven't find a purpose for it at this moment.
A 10Gbps Mikrotik 8 ports switch and a 1Gbps DLink 16ports switch.

The 16ports switch were originally purchased just to play with LAGs but still haven't get to it.

10Gbps switch is currently used for couple computers show in the picture as a backplane network. I am just assigning static IPs on the couple computers that are connected to it.

And a 3D printer shown behind my servers... It's a Ender 3 v2 3D printer.

Decided to go back to my GT-501 case as I was not impressed by the 011 XL for the most part. Better air flow in this case.
