What is the system to the left, a server?

I dub it my media server machine / mobile rig. It's a Lian Li PC-354b.

^^ looks to be whats on the screen on the left. I see a switch to.

Good eye, yeah that blue switch is a cheap Trendnet KVM switch, I just use the USB switch off of it, not even the VGA.. lol.

Oops how poorly observed, I just presumed it was a dual display rather than two systems running one display each, my bad :p.

You are right on dual displays, each rig has it's GPU plugged into both monitors. Anyone using multiple machines hooked to their own individual monitor on a desk should look into Synergy - http://synergy-foss.org/

I run a source dedicated server inside of ubuntu and it's awesome to be able to mouse over to ubuntu and adjust something while I'm in game on the other screen (this other screen has a Windows 7 PC hooked to it). While using Synergy you can hit scroll lock so that when you mouse over it won't change (remote in) to the other monitor the other machine is hooked to (This is so it won't remote you into the other machine when you are in a game).

There are many other scenarios where Synergy can save you a lot of time. When I'm not gaming I usually go dual monitors off of my "media server machine / mobile rig" :p

The underside of Galant desk is excellent for hiding a modem and cables just with a few cable ties!! (keeps out the dustas well)

it's pretty hard for me to call this a "workstation" and keep a straight face but anyway, there it is. :D

love that setup, love racing games, how much did the chair and wheel cost?

thats insane screen realestate

No. After using a setup like that I consider it to be a requirement. If you don't have that much real estate you are either using a mobile setup or slacking.

Every one of my office's workstations have at least dual screens and I have three. It is impossible to work efficiently with less.

I got a custom DemciFlex for the front of my 900, fantastic things! Great service from them as well.

My sentiments exactly. I'm the only one in my department with multiple screens and they all think I'm crazy. I keep telling them that I'm not crazy. I'm efficient.

I need to pick up a stand and another screen or two, but this works for now.

i didn't mean that it was insane to have them rotated like that more that im insane with envy, my 3 24s aren't the same brand so i just run them in their normal widescreen way.

Currently displaced my laptop, monitor, external, keyboard, and trackpad to small ikea lack table so I can work on Jackson Pollak's 'Convergence' puzzle that I haven't worked on in like two months. It's going to take forever to completeee :/

i would have to really like puzzles to try to use my computer on a ikea lack table for one

otoh i am fairly tall so that setup would result in massive back pain if i tried to use it.

Yeah it's not ideal at all but I don't use my laptop as much as I use to. Besides, when I do use it, I just sit on the floor haha. But eventually, for what I do which is web browsing, watching tv shows, listening to music, downloading, I want to possibly get rid of the laptop and monitor, and maybe go with a headless server and a tablet. As much as I love the real estate and the laptop, I dislike having to disconnect and reconnect the cables every time I take the laptop somewhere and I'm okay with losing the massive real estate on the monitor. I'd just have to change the way I do things which is fine with me.

"Convergence"? That puzzle took me forever :( But it was worth it!

I bet it was! Did you also do the 1,000 piece puzzle or the 300 piece one?

My photobucket broke. 10gig worth of veiws on my pictures all from this thread. lol

I've started putting my gear back together after the move. Still need to get all the servers and such into the rack. The network infrastructure is in for the most part but I still need to terminate a few jacks and such around the house and the patch panel in the utility room. Speaking of patch panels, I still need to reconnect the data rack with the server rack..... I also sold my old desk and my main machine so I'm stuck using some stuff I through together. I'll work on all that as time goes by.

LOL, yeah a chair and decent desk. What you see there is my Wife's sewing table :) I had two Jerkers but I sold one and took the other to the office. I'll snap a picture of my setup at work. I have 3 22" and 3 24" monitors on Chief triple monitor arms stacked 3 over 3.

The Lian Li is a PC60USB. I actually have 3 of them, one running my firewall in the rack there, one at my desk and the other in my office. It's by far one of my favorite cases to build in. Seems like the quality of Lian Li cases has gone down since the good ol days.

If your gonna have naked pictures on your wall at least put up real girls man!

Nah... real girls are too much drama... plus my wife doesn't tolerate any non-animated nudity in the house... only real girl nudity around here has to be her own, LMAO!

Not to mention I drew some of them myself... I am planning on replacing them all with my own eventually... black and white line art mostly! =)

what keyboard is that? how much?

That is the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate... Google will find you the price you are looking for...

I have the none Ultimate version... same board just no back-light and I love it. Much cheaper and I have no need for back-light.

FYI it is a mechanical keyboard

thanks it looks amazing

what keyboard is that? how much?

Yes it is indeed the Black Widow Ultimate Mechanical... I love it!
I highly recommend it if you like mechanical and individually backlit keys. This is now officially my favorite keyboard of all time! :D
I got mine for just over $100... and it's hand's down the best keyboard in that price range in my opinion. Of course, as Nickbaldwin86 mentioned, if you don't see the need/want for backlit keys then the non-lit version is every bit as good... but it doesn't have the USB pass-through port on the side like the Ultimate, I personally use this for my flash drives.

What Beyers are those sitting on your desk?

Yes, as mentioned they are the DT880 Pros, 250 ohm version. I love these too! :)

this is OT but whats the diff between a mech keyboard and ur average 30 dollar usb one?
