Been meaning to post my small revisions for 2012 but never got around to it until my Embody chair friend above inspired me to.

Nice try my friend, but mine is way cooler. Well, it will be if I ever get new widow shades. :) It’s sad, they came with the house and I’ve put new windows in and painted and so on but I’ve yet to replace all the windows treatments. Good thing I never have girls over.

Yours looks good but I can’t take all the clutter. I’d always be hitting my legs on stuff. I’m glad I was able to get the hardware at the time I got the desk, none of the pesky table legs in the middle.

Yeah, I gotta clean up the a bit. Those were totally rushed photos taken while there was still good lighting. I just put in the 7970's and moved everything over to the X2000F about two days ago. Had to move most of the wiring to move the tower location from on the desk to TV ledge. Haven't been able to redo the cabling neatly yet. The wiring inside the case is completely undone too - waiting on some MDPC-X sleeved cables to come in next week before I redo the stuff inside the case and post some system pics.

And yes, your shades totally kill your room ;)

I didn't know what that meant either . . . although I don't ever have girls over either . . .

because my wife would kill me!?!?!?

They would make fun of me shades. Not very manly and all. Luckily I’m very homely.

Just moved into a new room today, here's everything thrown together real quick. I will be doing thorough cable management when I get some time to pick up supplies.

Looks great!! Beautiful hardwood floor, too.

How do you like that Swan M50? I'm thinking about getting it for my TV.

They are a fantastic little 2.1 set! Certainly not comparable to bookshelf monitors in the same price range as far as detail and resolution goes, but they can hold their own against some very nice speakers. What they lack in detail is made up for in liquid smoothness and a tight, synergistic sub that blends seamlessly with the sats. I also love their relatively small footprint, which is very valuable when you have limited desk space. If you're looking for a sub+speakers, I think you'd be hard pressed to find something comparable for around $300. Go for it!

I just ordered it. It's on backorder, but will be in my hands in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Finally got around to a little neatening and photo taking. Lighting kinda sucked, but whatever.

This is my second workstation. I've set it up in a spare bedroom as a system to primarily do video capture of old camcorder tapes, and to also digitize my old vinyl collection.

Two Ikea desks, along with a Sansui G5500 receiver, Technics SL-1600 Mk II turntable, and JBL L-110 speakers. The stereo is all circa late 70's-early 80's. In my opinion, they don't make speakers like this anymore.

Anyone know what type of chair is this? I looked through the thread and could not find a answer.

Bahahah I know, terrible half finished basement, it's pretty awful. Brother destroyed it long ago. Nothing short of new dry wall will clean it up :p

Taking that power strip off of THE MIDDLE OF THE WALL will go a long way.

Also lighting is what makes a room and you have none of it. Go grab a 4' Halogen Track light kit from the depot. Power efficiency < Nice Warm Lighting.
