Post your workstation 2010!

I just got a new camera and decided to give a quick try with some pics of the updated setup.

My main system. As you might guess this is my main computer. If I need power this is what I'm using. It also is used as my server. I love the system but I'm in need of a new case. I intend to sleeve all my cables and I need something with better cable management.

The backup system, laptop, and DOS box. The backup system is one of my older computers that I used for so long that it was worth about $1 so now I keep it around to play some games that don't like Vista and 7, like Max Payne and Moto Racer. I've updated a few things like the case. The laptop is what I am forced to use since I work for HP. I guess it's not too bad. The DOS Box is my first computer. As you might guess. I run DOS on it and only use it to play DOS games, no emulation.

Recently I upgraded the main system and took the old parts and turned them into an HTPC. It still needs some fine tuning but I love it.

Lastly, there's my workroom. I have a couple of older computers in here. The black tower and laptop are customer systems.

Which Lian Li case is that? They have a ton that all look similar.

EDIT: I think I found it, the PC-70FNWX? Now, where did you get it?

Sweet, rockin the old consoles, and not for show, I see the games in the next pic!
What is the program that shows all of the album covers as a background?

wow clean set up's. i love the media room! good stuff. :)

Thanks! :D

Yep, all of them are hooked up and I still play them all when I can. I'm just using Media Browser in Win 7 Media Center. However, when you play music in Media Browser it jumps to the now playing section of Media Center. To get the album art in the back ground you have to add your music to the media center music library.

Of course you could just bypass Media Browser all together. In short, it's just Win 7 media center.

Just moved out of the future in-law's house into our apartment. The livingroom doubles as the office because we watch tv shows and movies on the computer (also I no longer have livingroom furniture...long, long story...for another time, I'm quite sure) :p Also - I desperately need to take a trip to southern California to pick up up my office chair. This white thing I'm using is an eyesore.

I use the bookshelf speakers as a combined center channel, the floorstanding speakers as front L+R channels, and wall-mounted satellite speakers for the rear L+R channels.

That looks like the PC-60FW (or its derivative, FNW) due to the horizontal lines on the front fan area compared to a rounded edge for the PC-7FW (or PC-7FNW derivative).

Ah, I see.

I just got done looking on Lian Li's website and the one I thought it might be isn't coming out until April. :(

I was under the impression that you could not connect an original 8 bit NES to an LCD tv. Is that wrong? I thought it caused terrible pixelation?

I was worried about that but it's not that bad. Still, when I have more room to deal with I'll build another rig with my old CRT TV for all my older systems as they don't look as good on the LCD but they're not that bad. What you can't do is play Duck Hunt as the light gun does not work with LCD and plasma TVs. I've seen that there are aftermarket ones that claim to work.

I'll have to start up and take a pic of it tomorrow.

What kind of speakers?

Also I wish I had a bigger room for a nice setup but my room is roughly 6"x7" do you guys know what kind of table i can fit? I'll get some pictures up over the weekend to show you guys a better Idea of how much room I got with my bed and all. I just want a clean simple setup.

You need to look into fixing the power for the tv, as I'm sure that voids any insurance in case of a fire (and definitely not to code).

I'll bite. This is a temporary setup until I get a desk. Just moved down south to TN from MI and still buying furniture.

It is actually super simple to just run electrical wire from that outlet and open a new outlet right behind the tv, check on youtube.

@blairellis

Where can that desk be found that you are looking to get?

Got the picture. Like I said, it's not as good as a CRT but it's not bad.

Polygon, what desk is that?

I assume that you're talking about the main computer. That's an O'Sullivan "L" Workcenter Model 10603.

Why the 3 copies of BF2, Col?

i knew someone would ask that:D. lost a disk, bought another copy, cd key banned, bought another copy, cd key got unbanned, found the disk, so now I have 3 fully functional copies of bf2:D one of my favorite games.

Im going to stain the big speakers on the bottom black one day soon, we are moving though so I cant start any new projects and have to finish all my other ones up.
