Hey Gen.Ben... Nick_Leo is right... the are indeed the Pioneers that he linked too. They are pretty good, but I think I am going to go with some Polk R150's soon... the Pioneers are lacking on the low notes. But for $36, not bad at all.
Oh and thanks for the compliment on my setup :)
 
I built the top shelving area on the desk w/ various parts from home depot. Redid some of the wirings on the back side as well. Also, took a few ideas from people that posted on this link, including the banana hangers! :)

At first it was a little wierd. I switched between both the grips about 6 times, then I started adjusting the weight. The only gripe I have about the weight adjust system is that they are towards the back, and when you pick up the mouse, it feels unbalanced. Other than that, its amazing!!!! Its soo smooth and accurate. I love it...

I use the "fingertip" style when I grip my mouse, so this mouse is perfect.
If you are a "palmer" this mouse doesn't fit that style too well, and I would recommend something else.

I just updated my system over the weekend. The new system replaces my Athlon 64 X2 5600+ dual Radeon X1900XTX box.

I run NVIDIA in one box, ATi in the other...to remain impartial of course ;)

I made the swap over from the X2 5600+ to the C2D because 90% of what I do is desktop application, photo / video editing and so on. The C2D seems to handle all my daily stuff (80 windows open at once while editing images and posting news) better than the X2 5600+.

You should get the program "UltraMon" to allow you to run either one massive wallpaper across all your monitors (or a separate wallpaper for each monitor.)
 
I went to Atlanta last weekend to visit my mother and went by Ikea to pick up a Frederik and accessories. I spent all last week without my PC since I tore apart my desk and started to mod the Frederik. Here is the evolution of my Workstation since 2003 in thumbnails, most were posted here on [H] at some point over the years in threads like this. Skip them if you wish to get to the good stuff.

The New Hotness!

This is the Frederik with the keyboard tray I built. I hate having my n52, keyboard, and mouse all over usable desk space and standard keyboard trays are only big enough for the keyboard. My old Sauder brand desk had one that was about 38" wide. The Frederik one I built is about 42''. I also really wanted to protect the Black/Brown surface even if it is laminate so I baught some plexiglass from Lowes for all of the tops.




Here's My Workstation with everything in it's place. Pics with flash and Lamps off.

The workstation is composed of the following for those that are curious:

Frederik Black/Brown Workstation
Vika Amon Table Top (Approx 2' x 4')
Vika Kaj Adjustable Legs
Jarpen Shelf (~31'' x 7.5")
Capita Legs (8" but also got 6" if I want to change height or add)
2x Grono Lamps w/ 5w CFL (sold seperately)

The Asian and World pictures and black shelves on the wall all came from Kohl's and were $1/2 off.

I did some serious cable management that took almost 2 days that is hidden under and behind the desk and in the bottom support beam. I want to get a kitchen or bathroom cabinet to paint black to put under the table portion where those plastic containers are now.

The keyboard tray isn't screwed into the desk. I didn't drill a single hole into it. I used the 6 spare holes underneath that have plastic threaded inserts for 1/4" drive screws. I cut and painted 2 peices of 1/2" thick cabinet grade wood to fit underneath the desk and drilled holes to line up with the inserts. Keyboard tray was attached using small bolts and nuts and then the entire unit was attached with 6 1" long hex bolts w/ washers. It's very sturdy and easily removable. There is also a small section underneath in the back that I cut out and attached some pegboard to. I then attached the Ikea Cable organizer (forgot name) to it.

Very nice! How did you put the plexi on there? I was thinking about buying a fredrik with no shelves and now i wanna do it even more and then do that thing that the other guy did to his! Where you get the stands, and how did you make the keyboard tray? Send me a pm please if you wouldnt mind.:D Also i watched fast and the furious and 2 fast 2 furious also today!:D
 
Thanks guys. The plexi is cut to size and fits very snug. If you look at the corners in the pics, you can see that I put some of that blue sticky tack stuff under the plexi just to keep it held down. The keyboard tray plexi is held down by the screws holding it to the rails. The large piece of plexi overlaps the right edge so that it can be as clost to the table as possible. I had to notch out a small section with the jigsaw so that it would fit around the vertical post.

lillimon04, I baught everything in the Ikea Store in Atlanta. It's barely been open a year there and was the closest one to me. There was no way I was ordering all this online and paying a fortune to have it shipped and risk it getting damaged in transport. My wife and I took my parents to the Atlanta Aquaruim and World of Coke and then made a "detour" to Ikea with my truck since all three are downtown.
I had printed off everything I wanted to buy before I went and just walked around for two hours finding where it was and baught it. Spent $360 in there, only about $20 not on the desk stuff.
The stands I think you are talking about are actually shelves. They're the Jarpen ones. The legs are Capita. I'll just post pics of the keyboard tray semi progress since I didn't take pics of every step.
 
Here is the nearly completed tray assembly. The larger piece goes between the 2 metal supports that hold the main desk surface up. The smaller one is routed in the front for a smooth edge underneath the front edge of the desk. Notice how the screws are recessed a little so that everything sits flush.



This is how it looks when it will be attached.



Sitting under the main desk. The cut out section serves two purposes. It reduces some weight and allowed me to place the pegboard (not shown) over it with a way to attach things like the cable organizer.



Here you can see the 6 threaded holes it will attach into.



Almost finished. You can see the hex nuts and washers holding it in place and the pegboard with wingnuts for quick removal.

More of cable management and the tray. That bundle of wires is going towards the rear between the desk and table and isn't really noticable unless you look. I sleeved my Power strip and UPS cords to the wall with 1" plastic sleeving from the Electrical isle at Lowes. I used a bunch of locking cable clips under the desk to bundle the wires together too.

Here are 2 more great tips. Instead of using zip ties to bundle wires, go to the hardware isle and find the velcro. There should be a huge pack of velcro cable ties that you wrap around the wires. I got one pack of 30 of short ones that had 15 black, 15 grey (matched the desk frame perfectly) and another pack of 50. They were about $4 a pack. This is a much better deal than paying the same price for 10 of the same on the elctronics isle at Target or Wallmart which I have done. The other tip is to label all of your cords. I cut a small piece of zip tie around the plug end of all my cords and make a little flag with masking tape and label them. I also use my Dymo label maker to label the outlets on my UPS and power strips so I know what goes where. This way I always know exactly what is what and don't have to trace cords back to their source. I did this to my home theater as well.

Steve, how are your cards getting enough power to them? You only have one 6-pin in the 8-pin, don't you need at least two 6-pins per card to power them?

I got tired of beige. I only wish I had discovered Vinyl Die or Krylon Fusion a few months earlier. It would have looked better. I paid $10 for that little 15" CRT just to use when writing papers.
 
Under construction. Need 2 more shelves for my rack to add in the rest. Also I know I need to clean up some cables. If you look, they are not connected currently.

heh, it is all the same to me, so i can use black and white monitor without any problems;)

im pretty sure thats where he said he got it from.

Looks like a computer setup to me ; ) Nice monitor, I also like how you did the wiring in that Apevia but you may want to clean the dust off of that side fan.
 
It's the fact that it's an Alienware...they're evil imo :p (and waaaay over-priced)
