The 5 built-in powered subwoofers give me all the punch I need.

My 40" LCD TV is crap. I'll be upgrading to a Laser DLP when they're released in December.

haha yeh i love it. :p plenty of overhead to pressurize my 18x14x8 bedroom. the server room scene in Pulse makes the attic creak.
my desk is going to get an x-sub when the money allows it... i set my heart on it.
i cant decide on what to use for the rest:

energy c-100 and center
monitor audio br1 and center
infinity beta's
SVS sbs-01

i have a while though... need moneys in my bank. will accept donations

Decided to just get rid of my little Yamaha 5.1 satellite speaker set at my computer desk, and replace them with my Athena's. :D (Still kept the subwoofer though.)

Now I just need a better soundcard since I can now hear how nasty my onboard sounds. (S'okay for now though. Most of my music I listen to on CD anyways.)

The Klipsch floorstanders are the F-2s, and yes, they're back in the living room. I actually tried to put them at my computer desk while I was giving the Athenas living room loving, but they were too big for that, so they went back and eventually I went with the Athenas at my computer's side.

When I compared the two, I was using my C222ES to listen to some CDs, mostly acoustic guitar, classical instrumental, and jazz recordings. The Athenas seemed brighter than the Klipsches, to the point that after switching back to listen to the Klipsches, they sounded muddy, and the midrange seemed less defined and not nearly as clear and clean as the Athenas.

Given my music listening habits, I enjoyed the Athenas more, although when I watched a movie/play a game, I honestly didn't notice as much of a difference between the two, which is another reason the Athenas ended up at the computer desk. (Where I listen to music 90 percent of the time)

The only thing I disliked about the Athenas was bass was almost negligible. You could hear it, but it wasn't as boomy as the Klipsches, which is why I kept the subwoofer from my old computer speaker set up.

I do like the Athenas more overall, but I wonder if I would've been better off passing them up (60% off disregarded) to save up for a good pair of bookshevles, like some Axiom M22s or something?

oh and i cant see the HD channels i pay for as well as the netflix i get through my mains like you can with the holographic imaging on your summits :p

Deftechs... I respect very much for HT. I didn't think much of them until I actually auditioned them and I was very impressed with what I heard and how they easy they were to drive with your run-of-the-mill receiver.

About the Definitive Tech's, yeah they're awesome. I've listened to some music on them too (shh don't tell Dad :p) and they weren't too bad. That sub is just nuts. I'll have to get the model number sometime. I don't listen to anything bass heavy, mostly older stuff. (60's-90's mainly)

I think the DefTech following here is fairly small. Hell, it might be just the two of us. :p It didn't take long for me to appreciate the sound of five 8" 150 watt subs booming at me. I love my DTs for home theater, but not as much for music. I actually think my X-LS PC setup sounds better for music.

Yep, I'm psyched about the laser TV technology. I only learned about it a few weeks ago. I was all set to buy a Toshiba 65" 1080p DLP before someone pointed me towards the laser stuff.

Any praise from PiniPig is high, indeed. I agree with him on the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system. I used mine for about six years before making the move to a receiver + speakers setup.

Two bipolar towers up front and a small sub and I think they'd be pretty hardcore for music.

What make/model camera do you use? I didn't even know such quality could come from a digital camera! Oh and awesome speakers!
 
Drew's got a Nikon D50 and he jsut got the 18-200 VR lense that's oh so hard to get your hands on!

Ah, thank you very much! Laxx is right. It's a Nikon D50, but those pictures were taken with the stock kit lens, the 18-55mm (like 100$). Needless to say, it was good enough. Shortly after I took those pictures, I switched lenses.

I tend to agree. A 2.1 setup is excellent for music and games. Once I get a sub for my PC system, I'll be ready for some serious jamming and fragging sessions. :D
 
Dang...the lighting was nice warm and soft so i was expecting a different kind of lens like the white series what settings did you use for those pics? high aperture i imagine

You are very welcome! The picture quality is so much better than my Cheapo Canon Powershot A530.

I was thorughly impressed. I wish I had the $$$$ like you all do. I did recently upgrade to Klipsch Promedia 2.1's on my PC. But my Yamaha RX-V795A below my TV only has a couple
Sony MB150 5.35" Bookshelf speakers, which does not have the punch that I have seen with nicer speakers.

I'm not sure, but was this directed at me? I'll answer it anyways.

I had the camera at 26mm, f/7.1, ISO 200, no flash, used a tripod and remote control.

That's almost like the setup I have. I'd love to know how the Athena 2.2's sound compared to my 1.2's. Oh well, i'm more than content with the 1.2's especially for the price.
 
oh man...hes got the best racing wheel available from logitech....my cousin's getting one..how do you like it?
 
It depends on games actually, playing GTR2 with the wheel is really a realistic experience.
 
Just got my RSX-5, unfortunately much to my disappointment on arrival one of them was dead :mad: I'm in the process of getting an exchange until then here's what one of them looks like next to the old promedia sats. One speaker sounds good can't wait to hear two!

Very accurate overall sound and pretty good low end too for a 5,25" woofer. Stereo imaging is really precise and what's mixed to center, stays at center. My Genelecs are fed by M-Audio Firewire 410 audio interface.
