We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

Hm, what's that?

Windows only allows Windows Certified Themes to be installed/useable. However, since most everyone can't have Windows Certify their themes, small so-called "hacks" to the uxtheme.dll have been made to allow any windows visual style to work.

You can google it. If you use a different uxtheme, other than Windows, you will need to find the uxtheme that matches your windows build number, which you can find out in Safe Mode.

re-done once more. if u gonna buy any game this yr it better be FEAR, SOO great.

Alright, why not just use StyleXP? :p

edit: does it work better or what? I know it's free but...

because it's just another program that is running, why not just tweak a .dll and have a process free stylexp :) it's also an absoloute waste of space, i have windowsblinds and stylexp on my hdd, but choose to use this as it does just the same.

Yep...why pay when you can do it for free, right? I think it's a lot simpler using themes with the hacked file...I used WindowBlinds for a little bit...but the free version doesnt skin everything....so I used the hacked file and thought it was much better.!

who says u have 2 pay for the software lol ;)

Hey people, how do you use uxtheme.dll to change your themes? I seem to be having trouble with replacing the dll, it asks for a password in order to overwrite it. I put in the password i have set up and says its the wrong one. help?

I would say, log in as your admin account, and do the change. That should do the trick. I'm guessing you don't have your account set as the admin.

NVM got it to work. Just had to use a systemfile replacer. :D

To Everyone who PM'ed me about the Visual Style/Wallpaper. I have made a post in the Wallpaper Mania thread with the following information. :)

october 2005 desktop.
milk vs
isystem icons
bunch of konfabulator widgets that sort of match
random wallpaper of leaves

arent i helpful?

Here's mine. Nice, clean, simple, and not too colorful. (Colorful = overpowering = bad)
Remember to click the image to view it full size.. instead of ImageShack's crappy resize-on-the-fly.

My latest experiment. Enlightenment DR17 (www.get-e.org) running inside Gnome 2.12 on Ubuntu's 5.10 (www.ubuntulinux.org) release. Fantastic real transparency with little system rquirements. The backgournd is animated, but that can't be shown in a screenshot :) icons and theme are also off of the get-e.org website. I said goodbye to WinXP a long time ago, except my direct-x games!

@randysway: ha, I got very motivated to do an "unsaturated" style of theme by your post! here's mine:
